Time to bring this one back to page one. I was doodling with Visio and decided to import a bunch of scans for a group picture, and it worked out pretty well. I use it as my desktop background

One of the advantages of starting small is to learn what defects you tolerate and which drive you nuts every time you look at them. I would advice buying a few cheaper keys first in the grade(s) you are looking for and then starting the hunt for the big one. Spending a few (2-4) months is probably enough learning. Hopefully even an AF15 won't appreciate too much in that time.

Great looking book! Make sure you keep it in a place you can often admire it.

While I have enjoyed the show, it's exasperating that Barry is such an insufficiently_thoughtful_person. He's supposed to be CSI, and should be pretty smart and somewhat experienced with criminals. The whole "let's give Zoom who is a superpowered serial killer all my powers" is lunatic. I hope they upgrade the writers. On the other hand, some of the lighthearted soapish elements do seem to fit.

Is that Orrgo (ST #90) I spy on the October Howling Commandos of SHIELD #1?

How about: A freshly formed legion is forced to recruit the Fatal Five to fight a rogue controller and his ultimate weapon: the sun eater. Should make an interesting movie. Totally based on #352-353 of course.

Northland 110 9.4 is over $50K! Just unbelievable...

Nice haul! Love seeing early pre-hero Strange Tales issues in the wild. The #76 is seldom seen.

So, for Strange Tales #8 we have the top three copies: 9.2 White Mountain 9.0 Spokane 8.5 Northford (other 8.5 is not a ped, has a big miswrap) Gotta love those peds.

What about the White Mountain and Circle8 peds? How do they rank in the pre-hero issues?

Great books guys! So much fun to look at those covers. On a separate topic, what do you Strange Tales collectors think about breaking up Strange Tales 1-100 set into 3 new sets: (1) Strange Tales 1-34 (Pre-Code Horror) (2) Strange Tales 35-66 (Comic-Code Pre-Hero) (3) Strange Tales 67-100 and Annual #1 (Pre-Hero) and also (4) Remove Strange Tales Annual #1 from the #101-188 set. If there is agreement, maybe we can ask for this as a group. JIM collectors might also think about something similar. Thoughts?

The perspective on the cover of 83 is interesting. The planes are nearer to the viewer then the people, but are much smaller.

Sadly enough, I've never read most of the Strange Tales pre-hero tales. Eagerly waiting for the Masterworks.

It's only expensive collecting pre-heroes if you manage to win one...

Maybe Coulson has received donor organs from the "blue man" which is why the Clairvoyant no longer is able to see him. Heart most likely, possibly even a brain. SHIELD might have saved his memories before brain death, and reprogrammed another one with them...

A very Grooty 8.5 price of $5750 tonight. Impressive! Only slightly less impressive were: JIM 55 9.0 at $3808 Strange Tales 67 8.5 at $2500 Strange Tales 89 8.0 at $2588 Boy I miss the good old days when pre-hero issues were cheap...

Maybe we should track CGC PH book sales to gather more ammunition for a scoring upgrade? I tend to track ST sales, do we have others who might track the other titles?

That would make a great poster (24x36).
