  1. Slow track now down to 145 days. It's slowly moving downward. It looks like every week or two it drops another 5 days - or one week, in business days.
  2. Economy tier now down to 150 day TAT, down from 155 a few days ago.
  3. This. I finally managed to pick one up last year(!) when my LCS came across a copy. I forget what I paid, but I seem to remember it was probably around $70 in raw VF/8.0 due to some small spine creases. Hard to find AT ALL never mind in high grade due to the black cover.
  4. Posted Economy TAT is down again. Now advertised at 155 days.
  5. I didn't know - thanks for that! Honestly, the magazine holders needed some improvement. I hope the new holders get slightly tweaked, and I look forward to seeing them.
  6. Magazine TATs, however, remain astronomical. And apparently you can't Fast Track Magazine submissions!
  7. I've pulled 20+ year old books from my collection - that I bought from my LCS at that time and subsequently read them, sometimes multiple times - and had them come back 9.8 without a press. With the possible exception of squarebound or "Prestige Format" books (which pose a greater challenge), floppy comics can easily be read with care and cause zero damage. So yes, if you yourself have accurate grading skills and handle your books with care, you can buy, read, and store a book and have it later graded at 9.8.
  8. Well, that's certainly a sassy cover. Right, smack in the middle of the cover...there it is.
  9. I didn't realize Top Comics were only in multipacks. I have a couple of these and seem to recall Overstreet indicating they were reprints of some sort. I'd likened it to Superior or Modern's M.O.
  10. The only way to tell what issue a "virgin" cover is, is to (carefully) open the book and read the indicia. You can also look at the UPC for issue number, variant cover edition, and what printing it is. Look up a tutorial online on how to decipher the UPC information, but the indicia is rather straightforward.
  11. Yeah, I've found this infuriating as well. Additionally, unless you've seen the original solicitation, you can't even tell with Marvel books if it's #1 in a limited or ongoing series, never mind how long that limited series might be. At least DC still puts "1 of 6" or whatever in the upper left corner.
  12. Posted Economy slow track estimated TAT is now 160 days. A couple of weeks ago it was 175 days; last month it was around 225 days. Once (if ever) it gets below 100 days I might consider submitting again.
  13. Recently found a big mid-grade post-2000 newsie ASM run in the LCS dollar bin (along with some other stuff):
  14. I bought all the New Universe titles when they came out, and read Star Brand until its conclusion. I MUCH later hunted down and collected the entire Marvel New Universe line, and tried to read them all. The only one I really, really couldn't read all the way through was Kickers, Inc. Confession on top of confession: I actually really liked Gruenwald and Ryan's D.P.7. I don't know if I've ever talked about this one with anybody before, but when I was in grade school (circa 1984) I was working on creating a comic book with a friend of mine - I would write, and he would draw. My -script had been done for some time, and he never drew any pages for it, though he did some awesome character sketches. Finally, I made him bet his John Byrne FF collection (probably from #232-259 at the time) that he would miss our next "deadline." When he did, I insisted he forfeit his comics and even showed up on his doorstep to collect. I still have them in my collection today.
  15. My 12/29/21 submission just went into G/E/I today. Hopefully it will hit QC in the next 2 weeks. Merry Christmas to me.
  16. ...aaaaand just like that, it went into G/E/I today. I should publicly complain more.
  17. Marking 11 months on my last Economy submission. UGH. Moderns have been getting graded and shipped within a month, but Economy is still at a year (or more)? The majority of the books I'm interested in sending to be graded fall into the Economy category, but I'm not sending anything with these TATs, and haven't since this last batch. Maybe when TATs fall below 100 business days I'll consider it. Which will be in, what, five years? MAYBE? I'll be sending a few Moderns to take advantage of the credit I got with my membership renewal in August, but after that I'll probably be cancelling auto-renew. BTW, this is WITHOUT pressing. Received: 12/29/21 Items: 13 Declared Value: 4,760 Service: ECONOMY Status: Scheduled for Grading
