  1. Just got this back today. Another atta-boy all around for CGC. Although I honestly expected to get my first 9.9 with this one. It's just so sharp and clean. Not pressed either.
  2. I'm trying to limit my air conditioning use this summer to save money. I keep my comic room air conditioned while I'm sweating in the living room. I can't chill in the air conditioned comic room unless I'm reading or organizing cause i smoke and the comic room is a no smoking room...door stays closed 100% of the time. So yeah...im sweating my butt off while my comics stay cool.
  3. So...can CGC catch the reloaded 238s or no? Because if they can't I'll prob just buy a higher grade without the tatz. You can get a 9.4 - 9.6 without tatz or a 9.0 - 9.2 with tatz for almost the same price. And no I don't have the drive, time or energy to try and scam the system. I'm getting too
  4. It can't be that simple...can it? I'd think, by now, flippers would have run this scam into the ground.
  5. When the tats are removed, is there a stub left behind?
  6. So I'm shopping around for a copy in the 8.0 range and I'm a bit shocked at how much cheaper the "no tatooz" copies are. Is it mostly about folks wanting that blue label? Are there other books put there like ASM 238 in this regard? What's your opinion? Did you need the tatooz to be satisfied when you bought your copy?
  7. Zero. And I get the whole "that's how it should be" perspective but I think it's important to give a supportive slap on the behind when things go well.
  8. ...great job! To customer service for helping me with my questions, to the grading team, encapsulation team, quality control and shipping depts. All 7 slabs are perfect. No scratches, scuffs or newton rings...labels are all correct. Now let's keep it rolling!
  9. Here's my Infinity Gauntlet 1 cgc 9.6 What do we all think?...9.6 worthy if this is the only defect?
  10. Sounds like my man just wants his graders notes.
  11. Its a fun series to collect. I just finished completing one with all the side stories...Zombie Deadpool, Marvel Apes and even the manga style comics. Some of the more obscure variants are harder to find in high grade though. The hardcover with all the covers is an awesome book to flip through.
  12. I like having cool covers slabbed. So in my Xmen collection I have issues 212 and 213 - cgc 9.4s....but I also have reader copies. They are not big money books but they look cool slabbed and they add a little "pop" to the run if I ever wanna sell.
  13. How dirty are these slabs ? I just use a soft cloth to wipe mine down and I use polywatch on any scratches.
  14. Ive always hated that cover. Jim def made it better! Shoot, Id let Jim or Todd do a sketch on any book I own.
  15. I buy sets all the time as long as they are all high grade books. The thing with selling sets is you need to be very patient and wait for that one buyer. When I sell my collection it will be sold in sets. I dont wanna be left with a mess of filler issues that no one needs or wants. They'll sit a while and accumulate watchers until someone pulls the trigger.
  16. These cabinets are perfect for comics...plenty of room inside. I do 3 rows of 100 books. I could actually fit 4 rows in these drawers though. I place stiff boards every 30 or so books to try and keep em up straight. I could use bookends but they get in the way when I wanna flip through.
  17. It's a nice looking 9.4. It has very light spine roll so I don't think it's been pressed. There's one color break on the spine but otherwise it's a sweet copy.
  18. Book is a graded 9.4 There's what looks to be ink on the letters U and E. This has to be a manufacturer defect ...right? I'm thinking if it's writing, it would get the purple label treatment. Am I correct? Thanks
  19. I wanna store my books flat...I REALLY DO! Bagged and boarded stacks wont develop spine roll. I like to flip through my books a lot though...like every day. But standing? I cant help but feel that my books are developing spine stress even as I type this. Books dont stand straight up, they lean on each other no matter what you do. The flaps on the bags create a weird slope when you have 100 books in a row and a row of 100 books is a lot of weight. Sometimes Ill pull out an issue and wonder if that spine tick im looking at was always there or if it developed over time. Drives ne nuts. Sooner or later Im just gonna stack them for long term storage (till death) and put my mind at ease.
