  1. Those can't be from his personal collection...can they? If I'm The Toddfather, I own nothing less than a 9.8 in anything!
  2. I asked because cgc Mike advised sending it in for reholder as a ME. I was under the impression that all books moved a bit in the case and that's the cause of SCS. I can tap the side of any case I own and shift the book around.
  3. CGC has been fair with me overall. Recently though, I sent in a modern book for pressing before grading because it had a couple very light spine bends. It came back a 9.4 but the very light spine bends were now deep spine bends. Somehow they got worse after a press.
  4. Call some law offices in your area and ask if they have any metal file cabinets they want to get rid of. Lawyers aren't using as much paper these days. The cabinets take up a ton of office space and it's expensive to junk them so law offices are littered with them.
  5. I've only had these for 2 years but no, nothing yet. I open them everyday. They never sit closed for long periods of time.
  6. Nice ! Unfortunately these drawers are not quite wide enough to fit four slabs so I had to get creative. I have 22 in this drawer. 3 stacks of 4 underneath. 2 stacks of 5 on top.
  7. That's smart. Anyone selling expensive stuff like watches, sneakers, sports cards etc is a potential target.
  8. I'm no criminal but I've watched a chit ton if heist movies If you have expensive books for sale on Ebay it isn't too hard to find out where you live. EBay tells anyone looking what state you are shipping from. So a thief finds a seller with big $$$ books in the same state that they live in. The thief then purchases the cheapest item you have for sale. You ship to the thief and BOOM ...they have the return address where all your expensive slabs are. The thief cases the house to get your daily schedule and waits to strike.
  9. Cool, cool. The other thing is... I'm constantly looking at my books so getting to the bottom of a huge stack is a lot of work.
  10. And you're probably fine...im guessing. Slabs weigh about 1 lb. So the slab at the bottom of that 20 high stack has 18-19 lbs of weight on top of it. Is that enough to cause cracks in the plastic?
  11. Sure thing 😃 It's just my personal paranoia. I' haven't done the math (cause I cant) but I'm guessing too much weight could damage the slabs at the bottom. I am pretty sure a stack could be larger than 6 without cracking the bottom slab. 6 is just where i draw the line.
  12. Get insurance. Oh and store your slabs flat...no more than 6 high.
  13. Yeah they're making it up as they go. Take Marvel's name and the original date off the slab. This is madness. Just to make a few thousand dollars. smh
  14. Some dude with hot dog fingers stapled a cover on a comic and they're coming back 9.9 and 10? No FINGER BENDS? This is such BS. I always knew some of my 9.8s should be 9.9s or 10s and now I'm 100% positive they should be. I think I'm done with this game.
  15. Why look at auctions anyway. Buy it now sales better reflect what the asking price should be set at. An auction sale only reflects what a specific group of potential buyers were willing to pay during a specific 7-10 day window.
  16. Yeah...CCS. Light spine roll, sure. No color breaks though and I figured a press would help get it to 9.4 range. 8.0 though? For a book without a major defect that seems harsh. I've had good luck lately so I'm not too worked up about this book. I just wonder if it was even pressed. I'll be able to tell once I get it in hand. This 3 book sub sat at CCS for a looooong time. So I reached out to CGC. The 3 books then shot through the system at ludicrous speed and a week later they're being shipped.
  17. Please check it out on the spare a grade board if you get a chance. It was a beautiful book. Not a 9.8 but nice.
  18. Interesting. I'm pretty sure I posted this book on the spare a grade board. I'll see if I can bump it on that board so we can see it pre press.
  19. Are these odd grader notes for a book that was pressed?
