I’ve had a fasttrack that was marked received on 1/28 and status hasn’t changed. It’s somewhat annoying given that even the largest number of days listed as turnaround time the entire time it has been listed as received has been 17 days and the lowest has been 11.

Hi Jennifer i went ahead and had my book sent back to me which I received yesterday. However I’m having a difficult time getting information about whether or not I have been refunded. I’ve made dozens of submissions however I’m considering sending in my first 25 book prescreen. With a normal submission my card is charged shortly after the the books are received and processed. I’m curious how it works with prescreen. Is the entire amount charged upon receiving then altered to reflect the actual charges once the books that don’t meet the prescreen grade and removed from the total? Or do the charges not take place until the after the initial prescreen? thanks

My last submission took 18 days from when usps tracking posted the item as delivered until the day CGC displayed it as received. Busy times

I completely understand the obstacles you are facing. However, my book has been there three months, so if at some point in the future if I decide that I’d rather not wait any longer can I request to have the book sent back and have the charges refunded? Or possibly just change the submission to standard blue label grading?

Absolutely. I had a number of Jim Lee Books I had signed when I was ten years old slabbed by CBCS. I’m never going to sell them but I wanted them slabbed and not in a green label. However I imagine they’d be easier to sell if I wanted to do that. It’s obviously not that same as a witnessed sig

Card collecting has blown up like never before. It was only a matter of time before the 30 year old marvel set became sought after. I had two full sets w holos. Sold one in Nov for $50 Sets are now going for around 500 I believe

the market has decided Phantom #3 is the book to have with respect to Maul, he’s on the cover and featured throughout the book. However issue #2 is clearly his first appearance. It isn’t a cameo. He’s in 4-5 panels and has a conversation with the emperor.

This 💯 the more parties involved in the submission process the more the chances of damage and mistakes occurring increases. an acquaintance of mine submitted a book through his LCS he swears the book he received back was not his, that either someone else submitted the same book and they got swapped accidentally at some point or that it was done purposely. He’s probably paranoid but why even bother

The Reason I ask is because I sent in a value tier submission in November that hasn’t been graded yet and Modern submitted in December that hasn’t been graded and I noticed that the card I used for both expires in a few days. Has the card already been charged or does it get charged upon completion of services? If it’s the latter, will I be notified that my card was unable to be charged and given an oppprtunity to give a different method of payment or should I contact customer service and alert them and provide the new card info now? thank you

Hello I recently purchased a French Star Wars Comic by Panini. To my surprise it arrived as a rather thick square bound comic. I measured it and it is just under 1/4 inch. Book has a gorgeous Ross cover that I’d like to get slabbed for my PC. Is this doable? thanks

I picked up a 9.4 Sig Series recently. After inspection it appears to have a couple of non color breaking ticks and one tick that does break color. I’d like to send in for press and regrade to see if I can get it to 9.6. With regards to filling out the submission forms is there anything I need to do than I would for a standard press and grade submission? thanks

Thanks for all of the responses. Yeah I started the return immediately after discovering the evidence that suggested a shill account was used. someone Above asked if it was really scratched. Yes it is scratched in a few spots. But I’d be lying if I said I’m not using this a convenient excuse for a return because I strongly suspect the bid up. Plus I paid almost double the amount anyone has ever paid for this book is it too much to ask for an undamaged case or at least one where the damage was disclosed before hand. in the end, Lesson learned, if I can’t be available to bid towards the end of an auction then I just need to pass on the book.

Curious what people think. And before I begin I want to note that I was negligent in protecting myself in this situation regardless of what actually happened, I’m new to Comic buying on eBay as I like many returned to the hobby after a 15 year absence because of the COVID situation. Ok... last month I wanted to place a bid for a book I have wanted for my PC since returning to the hobby. There are only ~75 copies in 9.8 so they don’t pop up often. Based on completed sales on eBay it’s a book that goes for between $125-$180. As it happened the auction was scheduled to end during a time I would be out of town attending a family funeral. Auction had two days left as I was getting into my car to drive to the Bay Area from the LA area. About a 5 hour drive. Before I left I put in my high bid. I figured I’d go $225 just to make sure, as I don’t mind if I over pay a bit because this isn’t a book I was going to flip or anything, I was buying for my PC. Anyway because I have a fat thumb and I was bidding as I was pulling out of my driveway I accidentally bid $325. I stupidly thought to myself that retracting the bid wouldn’t be needed as this book has never once broke $200. A couple hours into my drive when I stopped to get food I looked at the auction and to my shock the bidding had reached $295. I was surprised but I really didn’t think about again as I was about to be with my family for a pretty tragic situation until I returned home. I paid the 300+ with taxes and shipping and chalked it up to an expensive lesson. fast forward to a week or so later when I received the book. I open the package and the case was damaged. Which was weird because the listing had 6-8 pics but were taken in a way the hid the scratches. Furthermore I was really disappointed in the condition of the book itself. It’s just one of those books that I’d be terrified to send in for a reslabbing because I’m almost certain it would come back a 9.6. so at this point I’m a bit upset over everything and start looking into the auction and the seller. If I remember correctly The Seller had mostly buyers feedback but it was in the several hundreds with no recent sales. However when I did a completed sales check of this book again I noticed that the Seller had actually “Sold” this book (same CGC number on label) two weeks before I bought it for ~$180 (I actually had bid on it). He then resisted it with all of the same pics and details for the auction I won. I did look at the bid history and in my auction I was bid up incrementally by an account with a 20 feedback. The account that won the previous auction that was not completed was a different account with a higher feedback score that I cannot recall off hand. this definitely isn’t open and shut but I’m leaning towards the belief that I was shilled. I believe he attempted it on the previous auction and got stuck with his shill account winning. I also found it odd that this explosion of bidding occurred two days from the auctions end date as that tends to happen if at all during the final minutes. The bid history also shows dozens small bid increments by the other account before it stopped leaving me at $295. anyway sorry for the long post, but I’d be interested in hearing what anyone thinks. thanks

So to be clear you bought this off of eBay or something right? You didn’t submit and receive directly from cgc? There aren’t going to be notes on a 9.8, however if you see defects that you think would exclude it from being a 9.8 then it’s either the book got a lucky grade or maybe was lightly damaged in the case over the years from sliding around.

Every single book graded below 9.8 should have graders notes. Something. A short sentence explaining its defects. Insanity that this isn’t the standard
