  1. Jim Lee is signing at the New Mexico Con next Saturday. Hopefully the CGC signing will precede or follow that
  2. Has the Jim Lee signing taken place? Maybe? Really strange… https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/496828-signing-by-jim-lee/?do=findComment&comment=11988995
  3. Wow. This is bizarre. So I’ll put on my tin foil hat and theorize that because CGC estimates a 6 week turnaround after the signing takes place and they realize they cannot meet that time frame as they were probably bombarded with subs for a legend like Lee they are delaying the announcement that it occurred to buy a few extra weeks or their IG guy has brain damage thanks for sharing
  4. Can you share a screen shot of this?
  5. That’s odd. I was always under the impression that the pressing took place after the signing in attempts to repair any pressable damages that may occur during the signing process
  6. Your final sentence is the absolute truth. I recently received a book that’s was graded 9.6. Shockingly I received grader notes. However the notes almost certain reveal that the grader mistook elements of the cover art for damages. And upon inspection I’m 100% positive this was the case. Funny thing I strongly suspect this book was graded by someone who was new. First, because they obviously didn’t know to examine stock images of the cover art, but more so because they made notes available for a 9.6. Without the notes it’s all speculation as to the grade, possible within the guts of the book. truth be told I don’t blame CGC for actively avoiding giving notes to the customer.
  7. Not going to turn this into a I got robbed thread. As I haven’t even got the book back. It’s Darth Maul #2 1:25. The issue with this book and the notes I received is that cover art has white flecks all over the book. So when I see these notes and I look at this cover man I don’t know, guess we shall see.
  8. I just received a book back in 9.6 and actually got notes. However what was listed is something I’ve never seen before. what is color lift? I assume it’s another way of saying color rub? If I’m wrong please educate me. Thanks
  9. Sig series books are auto fast tracked. So they usually get them out quickly. And I’m not here white knighting for CGC, I’ve had an express book in limbo for over twice the TAT for that tier so I know it’s a mess show down there. However they tend to take care of business when it comes to sig series. The only thing about that is we all have zero idea when the books are to actually get signed so it doesn’t really matter because the 6 weeks doesn’t start ticking until the event takes place
  10. Hi Submission #3879798 I believe Express is listed at 17 working days. This was received 27 working days ago and hasn't had any movement in status. Thank You
  11. Word is his next experiment is trying to get color touch through CGC
  12. I’m a bit surprised at the responses defending the widespread lack of graders notes. I personally think a sentence or two should be mandatory for every book under 9.8. Especially with the influx of people making their first submissions and the inevitable disappointment of receiving a much lower grade than they likely anticipated. just recently I received a 25 book prescreen submission. 5 were rejected and I received notes on 4 of them. I appreciated it so much, all of us can get better at identifying hard to spot defects. It occurred to me that the reason I may have been given these notes was because of implied expectation that a 9.8 prescreen has that I believe all of these books are 9.8 worthy. All books should be treated as such IMO, assume the owner of the book believes the book is perfect and explain to them in a couple of short sentences why it isn’t. If for nothing else than the customer service. I was left very happy being told why these books came up short and that some had very fixable defects and others did not.
  13. It would be cool if everyone could go to a single thread or something like that to see when a signing is scheduled to take place. When it is underway and when it has wrapped. I’ve done numerous SS books and I did send in a few for the Lee event. Some happen very quickly after the deadline, others seem to take a very long time. I’d love to be able to know the status of the event other than looking at my submissions page and noticing that it is being graded. thanks
  14. It takes about a week even if you walkthrough written all over it. I wouldn’t stess for at least another few days
  15. Just had a 25 Prescreen screen move into Grading Status today. Received date is 3/28. I couldn’t remember more than two books that were in that submission. Hopefully it’s worth the wait
  16. Ok thanks. I guess they will be a nice Christmas present then.
  17. I made numerous submissions at TorpedoCon in LA. I’m wondering if these books are fast tracked like the in house signings are. I also noticed that the sub price is $37 for modern so I assume that’s what the cost is for. Just posted as received today. thanks
  18. It’s Dark Knights 7. Here’s why, it is the money book because it came out slightly earlier and is less printed than FS Wonder Woman. And in order to justify it being the money book we call it the first appearance. Happens all the time. For example, Punchline, her appearance in Hell Arisen 3 is by any definition a cameo, but because it is much more rare than the over printed Batman 89 and 92 (92 is true first) HA three is the money book. To justify it being the money book it has been deemed the first appearance. if Yara Flor amounts to anything the Dark Knights 7 1:100 will be the book to have. There is no doubt about it
  19. The City of Bane book recently sold for like 4K I believe and was graded at a 9.6. It’s unbelievably gorgeous
  20. Got a sketch at TorpedoCon from Lee. Was it worth it? Probably not, because he isn’t going to churn out true “Jim Lee” work in the 3-4 minutes he spends on it. However He’s an incredibly nice man, and I watched him do characters he has zero association with when asked, he just got on his phone and pulled up reference pictures and did it. I have no regrets, Jim Lee is the F’n goat and I’ll love this forever when I get it back from CGC in 18 months
  21. It seems to me that they have a new system in place. There is no more “received”. When they get a package, they process the books inside and list them and the books are then scheduled for grading. In the past that designation meant a few days. Now it probably means as much as a few months
