My old eyes cannot see the spots you are referring to, maybe place a arrow pointing to the spots, also, can we get a full cover shot?

Also, that book does not appear to be a NM/MT 9.8, with the uncentered staple, the corner wear with color loss

CGC is very forgiving with uncentered staples and miswraps. 9.8s are very possible if everything else is in line with 9.8 standard. The other company is not forgiving on these defects

  2. This is pretty frustrating. I sent in a book to be reholdered to notate it being a Newstand issue. I wrote that it was a Newstand on the paperwork. I also taped a note to the slab explaining that it was a Newstand as well. Of course when it gets posted as recieved there is no mention of it being a Newstand. I emailed customer service to explain that this needed to be fixed. This book arrived at my house last Friday. I was out of town and I just opened it and of course it doesn’t have newsstand notation on it. I attempt to use a mechanical error to send this back to have fixed and it says the window to do this is closed. Despite the fact that I am supposed to have a two week window from the day it was received. So two things….

    1. I need help to get this fixed, I’ll attach the info about the order and a screen shot showing FedEx delivered last Friday.

    2. If you are going to make newsstand notations available you guys need to be be aware of how to identify newsstand books. This is a Star Wars book from 2003. The direct sales have “Direct Sales” printed in the UPC. Newsstands have “Star Wars:Universe” printed in the UPC.

Doing so will create false perceived scarcity as all the many newsstands graded from 1999-2022 will not be listed separate in the census. Unless that 23 years of data is present then it is tantamount to encouraging a lie. Same as it is now with multi-pack stuff.  Unscrupulous sellers, dealers, auction houses and flippers will make a killing selling books to the uniformed advertising them as "newsstand 1/1".  Therefore I'm sure CGC will do it :(

I don’t disagree with your point however there isn’t any point in noting it on the label if it isn’t going to have its own sub catagory in the census as it’s very obvious if a book is a newsstand, with some exceptions like dark horse Star Wars and a few others

  4. Any chance I can still get something in on this? I just realized it was scheduled

The Reason I ask is because I can submit a book to be signed and graded through Celebrity Authentics up until July 21. Obviously I’d rather just submit through CGC and my own account. Please consider opening this back up to public as this signing isn’t likely to occur any time soon

I recently dropped one of my SS Slabs (oopsie) which cause a slight crack to the holder. It looks like no damage was done to the book. The book is a 9.2 and after looking at it, I really think it could benefit from a press. Is there anyway that I could submit for a reholder and have ccs press the book while keeping my yellow label? It looks like once I choose reholder I cannot select CCS pressing as an option.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You’ll have to resubmit to be pressed and graded. Don’t let people scare you with the downgrade stories. You’re more likely to get an upgrade as you are a downgrade. Downgrades are a very bad advertisement for CCS

He's not the only one doing this. It's a free country...he's not putting a gun to your head. Just like the recent Tradd Moore art drop...willing seller , willing buyer. If there's no demand for liefeld's creative sigs, then he may reduce his prices or offer something else. So long there's a demand. And seriously speaking the fact that we are still speaking about liefeld after he stopped making anything of note for decades speaks more about his legacy and place in the comic world pantheon. BTW I dislike his art intensely.

The fame that Liefeld still holds doesn’t surprise me. The kids that grew up loving him are all 35-50 years old now. He is bleeding the nostalgia for all he can and more power to him. Even more impressive is that his “Drop Shadow Chiseled Autograph” is the most significant artistic creation he has had in 20 years and his fans still love him.

Rob Liefeld ‘Chiseled’ signatures selling out at $210 a pop has caused me to lose complete faith in humanity.
