Yup looks like someone is trying to shut them down maybe ?

No, PayPal is not trying to shut down Eric July. That is laughable. He screwed up. And now he’s try to spin it as being a victim of “wokeness”

I’m sure this will all be worked out and everyone will get their books

  2. This isn’t my first post on this topic, however I’m growing more and more impatient.

I sent in my books in July of 2021.  They were posted as received on 8/16/21. So it’s been over a year at this point. But you know what I’d have a much easier time swallowing these delays if customer service would have been a little more proactive about this situation. I’ve never been contacted about this, the small bits of information I have concerning these delays is from replies CGC has made in other threads. IMO it should not be this way. I realize these delays are likely not the fault of CGC at all but once we start approaching a year without any change in submission status I’d like to think that you’d reach out to us and let know what’s going on.

for me personally I’d prefer to just cancel this order and let you keep the blanks I sent. one of the dogs I wanted sketched has passed and the other was intended for Christmas gift / Birthday gifts. Also I have a limited budget for this hobby and I hate that I’ve had $500-$600 invested in this and haven’t received anything for a year.

CGC’s best strength has always been their Customer Service, and I think that’s why this has been such a disappointment

Between 2008 and 2013. So if that counts as "many, many years ago" then we are on the same page. lol

Yeah, when the company is 20 years old that time relative to their existence is meaningful.

I am catching up on this thread, and I can't let this go uncontradicted. This is simply not true.  Out of about 2k books I submitted, I got a 10 and 4 or maybe 5 9.9s.

I am no BSD. I didn't have any exclusive covers, nor have I ever been a retailer.  The crew that I ran with in the 2010s would get a 9.9 from time to time, almost always from new releases pulled straight of cases. At least three of my 9.9s were Signature Series. Two of those were uncirculated Indy books.

They are pretty rare, but they have not historically been handed out to "retailers and their exclusive covers that are sent in for mass grading."

Ok, so I have to ask when you received these 9.9+ grades. I’ve only had around 500 books graded and my opinions are shaped by my experiences and the experiences of others I know. Based on that I’m of the opinion that the vast majority of 9.9 and 10 grades were given out many many years ago.

Honest to God I just picked a title out of thin air that I know has been submitted heavily to look at the numbers at CGCdata.com. Wolverine #1 from 1982. The book has had ~ 22,000 subs since CGC was founded. It has 27 9.9s and 3 10s. However of the 22,000 subs ~8,000 of them have come between Jan 2018 and now. Of those 8,000 copies there have been zero 9.9s and zero 10s.

now obviously this is just a book picked randomly but I’d be willing to bet that this isn’t an outlier.

So....CGC is selling CGC graded signed slabs?

    That doesn't seem right.

I believe this is strictly a giveaway. But I do agree if going forward they begin selling slabs on Whatnot, that would be very very bad

For my taste, they should be loyal to the comic book source material.

whats goin on with Lucienne and Death? Political correctness at its worst? Just askn…

If the skin color of the person they casted bothers you that much that it ruins the show for you, then that’s an issue with you, not the show. These are fictional supernatural characters FFS

Well these prices have escalated quite a bit... can we now add shill bidding to the list of atrocities going on with this book?

Yeah I’m going to go ahead and assume that these auctions are not going to end with any sort of payment.
