  1. Nice Ronaldo! I'll be updating my group shot pic when #45 arrives.
  2. Nice Ronaldo! I'll be updating my group shot pic when #45 arrives.
  3. Kinda looks like a Norman Rockwell painting. Nice!
  4. #39: The label actually says "cover detached". Before I sent it in, I saw that the spine was loose, but it wasn't completely detached. I guess I should be happy they didn't give it a Qualified grade. #35: The resto notes are "spine splits sealed". I didn't notice them, so I think there's a couple small ones, as opposed to one big seal. Again, I'm totally happy with all three books. Even if resto was disclosed on #35, I'd still have bought it. (I can't remember seeing another copy for sale.) It's all good! (thumbs u
  5. OK, I already posted these, but here they are again post-CGC: Bought as a VG- (with no mention of resto) Bought as a VG/F (thumbs u This my new favorite book Bought as a VG- Due to their rarity, I'm just glad to have any copy. In defense of the seller, they told me to send the restored book back for them to examine & they would buy it back or give me a credit for the difference.
  6. That should be in the Double Entendre thread! The kid's holding a big log that appears to be comics out of the Rifleman's crotch. Also, why does the kid have his finger nails painted black?? Nowadays I could understand, but back then...
  7. It would have been the last thing you ever did! Kidding (sort of)
  8. My first Heritage win!!! It's also the first of all my Adventures that I got for under Guide.
  9. It's a 4-page Federal Men story that has the cop questioning the kids about where they got the "marihuana cigarettes" from. I just sent the book to CGC with some other books, but I took pics of all 4 pages before I did. If I can resize them where it's readable, I'll re-post for you all.
  10. One of my newest acquisitions has the distinction of having the "First mention of marijuana in comics". I've never seen this posted before (forgive me if it has), so I thought it would be appreciated (especially by certain members ). It's funny to notice the old-school spelling of "marihuana". Enjoy! (Sorry - I'm having trouble with photobucket & can't get it to show any larger)
  11. Thanks Ben! #35 has been sitting there way too long. I figured I should grab it before someone like you snagged it.
  12. Thanks! Metro had the best selection around (before I wiped them out )
  13. Thanks. Every once in a while 39 comes up for sale. 38 is harder to find & 35 is getting into the "rarely for sale" category. The obvious drawback with 35 is the sunshadowing along the spine edge, but it's one of those issues where if I didn't get this one, it may be years before another comes along. I'm happy!
  14. Three more babies for the collection. I'm posting them now because they're going to CGC as soon as they arrive.
  15. "Detective 1, Ronaldo....what Detective 1?" (hehe) Get my Jumbo 31 back!
  16. I've never seen that Happy Days book before - heeyyyy!!! 3 GA books I received this week:
  17. Kudos to Socratic Wonder for the All-Star #45 and to Dark Knight for the sweet Detective #50!!!
  18. Justin, does this mean I should drop you from the Greedy SOB! guest list for next week's party? (Way to go, Ronaldo!) Yes
  19. Is this the first variant cover in comics? Actually it's like a "reverse-variant" - the cover is the same on all of them, but the insides vary between the versions.
