  1. That's how I feel too. I've waited a long, long time for one to hit the market. It's not an easy book to find. However, it's a PLOD. I always said I'd stay away from restored books unless it was a book that I'd either never find or never afford unless it was restored. I think this book fits the bill on both counts. I'll post it when it arrives.
  2. Does anyone own a copy of Adventure 33? I just bought a copy, but I'm at work (without my Guide), so I want to see if I got a good deal or paid too much?
  3. All you need to remember is that I own none of those great books you keep seeing on here.
  4. That's almost as much as my car cost new when I bought it 6 years ago.
  5. Ciorac - I love those non-Bats Tec's. How much??
  6. Amazing Bill ! Is the Batman 1 restored and if so how much work was done? Looks amazing! Thanks Bro! I am very happy. I have been without a Batman #1 for five years, and it is just about my favorite book (other than Tec 27). This one was from an original owner collection, Matt just finished the resto and I traded him for it. The work is nice, and not too heavy. The pages are a beautiful off-white to white. Maybe some day you'll have an Adventure 37 to add to that "bedspread".
  7. The mailman was good to me today! I posted this before, but now that it's arrived, here's a better scan: and here's my latest ashcan that I won from the recent Hake's auction (I can't wait to curl up and read all about the Unmarried Bride )

  9. Who's books are those? That copy of Double Action #1 is a mock-up, correct? Is the Double Action #2 real?
  10. Ashcan/Comics - you are correct about the 7.5 Superman. I also showed that there were two Superman ashcans slabbed: a 9.0 & a 7.5. Now it shows on the census as an 8.0. Maybe it was always an 8.0 & CGC just corrected it? Gary - I'm glad we can provide some entertainment for ya!
  11. You have to view it from a historical, rather than a financial point of view. For example, let's say someone created a fake that was so good that someone paid big bucks for it. Congratulations to the crook: he just scammed someone out of some money. On the other hand, there's those of us who have an interest in ashcans not primarily due to their monetary value, but because of their history. I mean, a real ashcan was probably literally in the hands of the book's creator(s) before the series even began. They're truly a piece of comic history. If someone recreates a Picasso so well that it fools the experts, does that make it a Picasso? NO As to what I have: Animal Antics Cyclone Comics Intimate Confessions Real Fact Comics Movie Cartoons Movie Fables Movie Gems Screen Cartoons Screen Comics Screen Fables Screen Funnies Screen Gems
  12. Hey - you can create your own. I have to buy mine! (Of course mine are real )
  13. I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but the cover to tec 187 has an error - it shows Two-Face's bad side on his right, when it should be his left.
  14. Even at 4.0, that's a nice looking copy of Supes.
