  1. That is true. I guess this is why X-Men 1 and FF 1 has leaped over in value from those two aforementioned books.
  2. Aim for high grade with major characters, 1st appearances, origins, etc.
  3. I know there's a block bidder list on ebay. Unsure about sellers. Maybe you can also add their ebay screennames to the block bidders list and it could prevent you from bidding on their items. I've had instances from certain ebay sellers where I try to put a bid in and it wouldn't allow me to. It told me to contact the seller. So it may work?
  4. I would be extremely happy to own that copy. I don't think anyone would think otherwise.
  5. I'm sure it is noted by CGC if you buy the notes to the book.
  6. I'm thinking the same thing too. But also the possibility of a very faint diagonal crease as you said.
  7. This was also my past experiences as well. Although i've submitted books in newer labels with higher PQ and then coming back with a notch below that. So white to offwhite-white as an example.
  8. I'm sure a lot of the high end spenders/collectors/dealers know about his history as a seller. Reputation is practically ruined. Very similar to what Danny Dupcack did.
  9. I wonder what made it a 5.0 the 2nd time around if in fact it is the same book. Looks wayyy better than the assigned grade. Would be interesting to see if it can at least match what it sold for if it is up for sale. I guess I got lucky on my previous re-submissions
  10. I really don't know, but certainly looks like it. Can't say 100%
  11. I think, even with a movie coming out in a week or two, that B&B prices is on a downward trend from earlier this year and especially last year. Would prove that a lot of key books have no impact on movies whatsoever.
  12. The CC 5.0 copy that sold for a record price had a few things going for it: 1) Tremendous high eye appeal which I think is a key factor in setting a high sale price. 2) Old label goodness (possible pressing upgrade? I've had my luck with upgrades before one of which was a 9.2 old label to a 9.6 new label) 3) The Cream-offwhite pages on the old label can, not all the time, upgrade to a higher PQ. Again, I've had upgrades with this when I sent in old labeled books. I also agree that because it's "that time of year" sort of thing where X-mas is around the corner and people are going to be spending a lot of $ on gifts, trips, etc. definitely not a good time to sell, but a great time to buy. We'll see how the other AF 15's perform in the next few auctions coming up.
  13. Glad I sold my CGC 5.5 copy earlier this year. Lost a few hundo, but not too bad. I bought my 5.5 for around that price.
  14. No offense, but anyone who is paying that kind of money for a common modern book is just gonna dig up a huge hole to get out of.
  15. I think it's a great idea and would be great if CGC can include paper brittleness scale on the label. If they have done a scaling for restoration, why not for paper as well.
  16. Cleaned!? Look at the cover, it's dirty.. I don't see what could have been cleaned.
  17. Just ignore the auction and move on if you do not like it. I'm sure he has a lot of knowledge on comics and their value, but wants to try and get someone to agree with his reasoning to buy his price.
  18. Might have sold privately, but I'm thinking it may have sold later on when prices started shooting up.-
