  1. Maybe slight-mod at most. I've seen copies where chipping occurs at the entire right edge and sometimes even affects more than just the edges. Looking at the book again, it's not all that bad.
  2. I agree. Dr. Doom is my favorite marvel villain. Would be great to see a movie under his name.
  3. I think I've seen this copy before. I remember that big ole rat chew on the edge. Would be interesting to see how much it sells since i haven't seen a complete unrestored copy sell recently.
  4. Ruffalo might be the best portrayal of Hulk we have seen so far, but I thought that Norton's Hulk movie was pretty good and entertaining. I would've been fine if he continued on that role to later movies. Didn't like Bana's at all. I think I fell asleep a couple times I think if Marvel does some sort of storyline that involves Galactus heavily with the FF in a three-part movie series than ya that might work.
  5. Can we all bear another reboot though? At least to those who are not comic enthusiasts like us? Would be hard to sell after 2 unsuccessful outings.
  6. Seems like a 4.0 copy is the sweet spot to sell for the lower mid grades. There's a 4.0 with minimal chipping auction style on eBay starting at $25k by Gary Dolgoff. Not a bad looking copy. Also a trusted and long time dealer. Would be interesting to see if the book sells this time around. Was up a couple of times I believe with no takers.
  7. Be safe to all!!!! Hope you guys can get away from the hurricane.
  8. Checking ebay and saw that a CGC 5.0 copy sold for $9750 yesterday. Looks like a scam and I 'm sure it is. I've seen those same pictures circulating around ebay auctions every few months or so. Also, just saw a beautiful 5.0 old label copy with a BIN of $119k OBO. Seller also has a nice 6.5 old label Hulk 1 up for sale. Looks legit to me after selling a ASM 1 for over $20k this year, but then again I dunno given there have been so many hijacked accounts and that his pictures were taken differently for each book: one with a camera and the other on a scanner.
  9. i'm wondering if the image is photoshopped
  10. You really need to subscribe to GPA... you can get a better picture of the overall market for silver age books.
  11. unreal.. Hope the cops capture this thief!! Good there was video of him opening and stealing the contents inside and a decent picture of his face. Only a matter of time now.
  12. BINGO! I just looked at both the 7.5 copy that sold with this new 8.5 copy and the top left and right corners do match up pretty identically! Also both have white pages. Not that common for a DC book if you asked me. The 7.5 was pressed and now an 8.5.
  13. Yes there is a cap on FedEx insurance as I inquired about it a few years ago when I was trying to insure my Hulk 1 for delivery. I can't remember exactly what the cap was but I know it's not that big, was quite surprised at that time how low the max insurance was. Even USPS registered with a $25k max insurance was much more.
  14. It can very well be. Only time will tell. We'll see how the JLA movie is hoping it will do well.
  15. A fellow boardie was able to complete his coverless copy by buying an intact cover of Cap 1 on ebay. I thought that was pretty cool as finding covers can be very difficult especially key books.
  16. Gonna take a guess that the 8.5 copy will sell between $100-$125k. I don't see it surpassing AF 15 in the same grade.
  17. Not a fan of graded single pages. Will never buy one for my collection no matter what it cost. Like most, also against peeling away single pages of a whole book and sell the pages individually. I've seen some pages sell for a lot more than practically half of the whole book or so just for monetary gains. I despise people who practice this. Coverless comics are A-OK.
  18. I value this book between $400-$500k because of the label notes and I also think that right now, WW is a bigger character in the DC Universe than Green Arrow with just the movie and with more to come later on in the future. WW is gaining a lot of steam and is a top 3 DC Superhero in my opinion. If the owner is having health problems, debt, or what have you, and seems like he is in need of cash, than why not just auction the book instead of sitting on it with a buy it now price and wait who knows how long? If it is for a huge flip he is trying to accomplish, than I understand why he would have it as such. It's still a key book and a very nice looking copy and I project it to do well at auction. Probably a better time to sell the book during the MF 73 crazy price hike a couple years back or so. If I had the book, I would've tried to auction it then, now it seems prices are going back down to earth. Whenever I see a GA book with minor amount of color touch, glue etc., I always think of it as not being intentionally that it was probably caused by accident. If small enough it probably wouldn't affect the grade, but I would approach on the side of caution and figure it would drop a couple points or even half a grade. But yes, rather risky to try and do a press and to regrade the book. We've all seen books placed in blue holders suddenly turn up in purple holders after a re-grade. It can happen...
  19. Perhaps also a lack of marketing/advertising/word of mouth on these books too. Unlike major auction houses where you get a catalog, email notifications, etc. I seriously forgot about these books had I not been checking the boards.
