  1. Gonna take days until the review is completed. Just hang tight.
  2. Has Tec 33 leap-frogged over Tec 35 in terms of a per value per point basis now?
  3. Good luck man! Hope you get all your $ back!
  4. I think with the price levels that AF 15 has been selling for, ASM 1 should get a small price bump as the more affordable spidey key between the 2.
  5. It's a stretch but the only thing I can think of and it's really ridiculous is to video record yourself from the time you package the book inside to stepping out of your home to driving to the PO and finally until you hit the counter to pay for postage without any pauses, all continuous. At least that is solid proof that cannot be edited in any way. But again it is just crazy.. I dunno how else to really prove it, unless maybe you have a postal worker nearby the counter, they see exactly what you pack inside the box and then you get their information as a witness.
  6. What if say the seller refuses to sign for the package, than what? Does the USPS make note of that? Or what if seller claims that the actual item is not in the box or claims it's something other than what he sold? These are some ideas that I've never came across with and also something I've wondered about. Would be the worst case scenario but good to be prepared for any scenario.
  7. Gonna give this thread a bump. I have a few on hold right now. If you would like better pictures on any book, please let me know. Also accepting reasonable offers so don't be shy . Willing to give better discounts the more you buy.
  8. NO... Do not agree to his terms. EBay/paypal/your credit card company will side with you . You will get your money back as long as you have the hard proof to back it up. I've been through numerous cases like this on eBay and have always won. Buyers get a greater advantage than sellers too.
  9. I agree as well in that CL should report all sales to GPA, and not just the record price. I know back then they didn't, not sure about now. You never know because they just recently post back cover scans on the more valuable books. That's a good start!
  10. I think someone here mentioned that a 1.0 or 1.5 or some lower graded copy sold for a crazy price on eBay recently. That's a start.
  11. Holy moly what a mess and so sorry about what happened!? Pictures are small and difficult to tell whether the book had restoration. With resto and even with cleaning you can feel and see the difference between that and an unrestored copy. It was a huge huge risk to buy a raw high dollar book like this. I see this happening all the time on ebay with buyers being sucked into this vacuum thinking that the book is all original/untouched. I hope you get your money back pronto and definitely negative the seller. Very poor form on their part and to be listing the book as unrestored. They knew what they had to begin with. I've learned my lesson when it comes to books like this especially higher graded keys. It's either you don't buy/bid on raw copies or if you do happen to buy it, get it checked out asap by a professional like CCS for any restoration, trimming, staple replacement, etc. Also begs to reason for why not have this book or any other valuable book be professionally graded (my a reputable company btw)? It only helps the buyer to have peace of mind and the seller realize maximum profit.
  12. Trying.. But at these price levels, it is difficult to hoard copies. And yes, I say that every year too Whether this new surge in price is an anomaly or the actual new benchmark price, I think this book will certainly reach those levels anyways in the near future.
  13. I know you're asking Roy, but hope that you won't mind me answering your question. Depends on who presses the book. If you have CCS press, they charge have different charges depending on tier. You can see how much they charge here: http://ccspaper.com/fee_table.php CFP aka Joey I believe charges a standard flat fee based on tier, at least the last time I had a book pressed by him. Not sure about others.
  14. Yes, I know what Roy said and understood his post. I get that a book that can be upgradeable can artificially sell for more than what that book sold for in its grade. In this case the CGC 4.5 copy in the past CC auction. Some said it looks like a 5.0 or high, which it does and therefore it set the bar for what a 4.5 copy should sell for. I have seen and bought books with upgradeable defects, but it doesn't mean that it is the new standard price.
  15. Not necessarily the new market baseline because it is not absolute. There are a bunch of books that have set market baselines in the past, but each succeeding sale, the price sold for less than predicted or less than what it last sold for. The record sale prices you pointed out are primarily uber high grades where there are less copies in the census than lower graded copies. What I am seeing is an major uptick in price in practically every grade so far on high and low grades. Let's take a look for example at the current CC auction. The CGC 7.5 right now has a bid of $77k, a couple months ago a 7.5 copy sold on CL for $87k. I think it will surpass that mark. The CGC 6.5 copy is already at $56k, with the last recorded sale I have on this grade was at $50k on Dec, 2016. I will leave the 4.0 copy out of this because of the white pages and I am still a firm believer that white pages will command a higher price especially if it hits specific criteria: no MC, deep colors, nice centering, etc. this copy seems to hit most of the criteria if not all. There is an offer of $25k for a 4.5 copy and in my opinion is a weaker 4.5 due primarily to the long subscription crease from top to bottom, I have a 4.5 copy and it looks much cleaner. And finally a 1.5 copy with an offer of $8k! Yeah the copy with the huge chunk out, a very weak 1.5.. A 1.8 sold for $8400 just last month. Based on current prices, and most do look like its grade or lower, I see that these are the new prices for AF 15 and in my opinion (always a chance I am wrong) will continue as the trend. Yes at first I was a non-believer in the record sales from the last CC auction where the 4.5 sold for around $37k, etc. but now it's still happening to all copies in all grades setting record highs. Do I think this is market healthy? I dunno yet because I do not know the ceiling for this book.
  16. Even chipped copies are rising. I don't believe it is all "upgradeable" because it is not 100% guarantee.
  17. Yep. I already presented my case when I subbed my AF 15 to cgc that I cracked open from a cbcs slab. It's a case by case situation.
  18. I have a feeling that this was an inside job. I'd suspect the camera security crew who put them up. How else did these thieves know, how, and where to disconnect the cameras and take it with them.
  19. Definitely no stopping the high speeding train. Every year I always think to myself that the ship has sailed and it's too late to buy a copy as prices are too strong.... And every year i'm proved wrong, so now I'll just believe that the ship hasn't sailed yet There is no other SA key book besides Showcase 4 from the years 2015 & 2016 that has performed this well in recent years.
  20. Just sent in my 2nd copy to CCS for eval. and then to CGC for grading. Hope it grades well
