  1. I agree with what you're saying. I have also stressed about buying non-chipped copies in the past. Most of my copies had no MC, I had a few that I did but that time I really didn't take MC into account. Prices are astronomically high and tough to gauge the market fro chipped copies. Only way to find out is to put one up for auction, which I may do.
  2. Soo, how much of a discount does chipped copies command vs. unchipped copies? 20% off sound right? I guess it also depends on the varying degrees of chipping.
  3. Kinda reminds me of Dr. Who.. Whenever one dies, a new version comes up.
  4. Never heard of him. Kudos to him.
  5. I think the last time I saw the Curator copy was at Pedigree's website if I'm not mistaken. I believe the grade is a 9.0?
  6. The "Incomplete" text would also be in the right-hand side and bolded on the label as well, not just in the notes area below the title of the book. They did it in both places. I guess the new label eliminated the redundancy?
  7. Must've been a great presser. Who did it if you don't mind me asking.
  8. Good catch! Dunno why either. I have a book with a small coupon clipped out and it got incomplete on the label..
  9. Well, looks like all my eggs will be in this basket then
  10. I wasn't sure what was left behind, thought that there may be more keys and rare books. Hoping a few surprises.
  11. Hope he does go through with the shipping to you this time . Geeze that's just awful! Why even be an online dealer if you don't even ship your paid items!? I bought a high profile book once from him years back online, and luckily it went smoothly. He even answered all my questions in email which was great. Dunno what happened to him now
  12. I didn't even know there was a Tec 33 up for auction
  13. I wonder what books are in store for phase 2 of his collection..
  14. Nothing in life is ever guaranteed. Why should comics?
  15. Not to brag, but I just received my catalog in the mail. What a beauty!
  16. Would you be saying the same thing if it was the opposite? Would you whole heartedly accept it to be the new price if a high graded AF 15 copy sold for 50% of what they have been selling for?
  17. But an 8.0 copy has never reached this level till now.. Unless anyone knows of any private sales that have sold for this much or more.
  18. One data point does not translate to the actual going price. You need more data to back up the facts.
  19. Long overdue is definitely an understatement... AF 15 has been for the most part selling well every year and has seen a gain in price almost yearly. Of course there were a few years where it got a short pull back but for the most part, the needle has always been pointing up.
  20. This is a whole new territory that AF 15 value levels has been reaching. Most of us take a conservative approach when it comes to guessing the final price. It's for the longevity of the hobby. Looks like the other major SA keys will have a lift in price as well being looked upon as a "bargain" right now compared to AF 15. It's usually the case. AF 15 is the drive of the SA, everything else follows behind. I'm still predicting ASM 1 will get the biggest bump in this. Still contains the origin retold story and first ever spiderman titled book.
  21. Yep I'm an 80s kid and yes I do have that Semi-Colin unnumbered error card. I have every variation and error card made from the original 80s series
  22. Not a fan of the tanning on the edges, other than that a sharp copy for the grade.
  23. Still waiting on mine You got yours fast going all the way to England!
