  1. Years back, I remembered registered mail took longer than 5 days to deliver a package, at least for me.
  2. not counting the pages on a raw book is like buying a car without test driving Absolutely right (thumbs u
  3. At the rate they are both going, it should be back in 5-6 months. I thought about submitting my books to Matt, but the price and turn around time is a major detractor compared to Joey. Is one better than the other? I have used both companies for pressing and both are on par with each other I think. You can't go wrong with either of them.
  4. Congrats on picking up the 12th page to complete your book! I'm glad it was available for sale! I too had an experience where I bought a raw X-Men #1 and it was missing the cf. This was before I counted pages as well. I just hope collectors will have the habit to count the pages before they make a purchase.
  5. My copy was just shipped today from CGC. Should be officially in this club next week
  6. Congrats and have a safe flight back home (thumbs u
  7. You should do a giveaway of one if you break 150 copies sold this year. Or a raffle for a copy where people would pay for a ticket and you announce the winning #
  8. Good luck Gadzukes! I'm sure it will be well worth the plane ride and the purchase!! Can't wait to see it!
  9. And of course, I have to give credit to Joey for the press job He did a MARVELous job! Thanks again!
  10. and full scan of the Slab with new scanner Yep! Finally right . I'm still tinkering with the settings to see what's best. Any suggestions in terms of brightness and contrast?
  11. Back in the club!!! Using my new scanner
  12. and what was even better is that I priced the book in 2013. Wow what a deal! Congrats! That copy looks much better than a 1.8 Those are the kinds of defects I look for when buying a low grade copy. All about the eye appeal
  13. Two Hulk 1's are better than one Congrats!
  14. Geez, yeah.... I always forget to take pics. Sorry. I Did have a great time giving him the news, his eyes got really wide. And I liked seeing a nice AF15 that I knew was 100% unrestored. So many I see have tape or color touch. If he decides to sell to me you'll see it. I told my daughter to sweet talk him (he apparently has a crush on my daughter). cool use your daughter to sweet talk him you must be good friends if you're not getting a shot gun ready Make him a deal that he can only date your daughter if he sells you the AF 15
  15. That's a great story. I hope he gets his price if he plans on selling the book. I wish you took a pic of it. Would love to see the book and the white pages.
  16. I'm looking to buy a new scanner to be used on my new laptop that operates under Windows 8.1. Anyone know of some scanners that are compatible with it? Thanks
  17. How many movies have they made? Here you go https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_based_on_Marvel_Comics I thought we were just counting Marvel Studios. I was talking about all Marvel movies released till now
  18. How many movies have they made? Here you go https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_based_on_Marvel_Comics
  19. Saw it 2 days ago. Great movie and storyline. Easily a top 10 Marvel movie for me.
  20. Because the splits were sealed, CGC realized they missed the seals, the book was regraded and the seals were reopened. And don't feel too bad. Had I known what Detective 31s would be going for today I never would have sold the 7.0 for a down payment on a house. I would have waited and sold it to buy the whole house. (thumbs u Who would've thought that Tec 31's would be selling at this point today. It's all about timing I tell ya. It could just happen at any moment.. Great that CGC fixed the problem with the seals or else it would have been in a conserved label as a 6.0.
  21. Still trying to figure out how the Tec 31 showed no splits when it was a 6.0 and now spine splits present when now a 5.0.. Had I known back then it would re-grade a 5.0 I would've resent it to CGC.. Argh!?
  22. Seen that same picture from a local Craigslist ad here a handful of times. I already knew it was a scam.
  23. Sniped at $4,606. The last GPA-published sale of a CGC 1.5 was April 2015 for $5,500. That copy had OW/W pages. Today's sale has brittle pages. Looks like that 1.5 from April has been CPR'd. The $5500 price was certainly strong for that grade, but likely included the upgrade-ability for the copy. On any level, this book has made remarkable leaps in all grades and conditions in the last 18 months. -J. This. I think prices for this book will stay right around where they are now the next few months. I don't see the value going down.
  24. that was quite a 4.0 run of pre robins you had Brian. I thought CGC had a "ceiling" grade of 5.0/5.5 on books that had such spine splits...? Yep, it was a fabulous run I pulled. I don't think I can pull it off again unless I win the lottery I really don't know what the ceiling is for spine splits. But, I know back then if the spine splits are around an inch or more at both top and bottom, I think the ceiling that time was around the 4.0/4.5 range. I guess now it has changed?
