  1. 6k for a 4.5? Wow I would've accepted but thats just me
  2. . . . which in your best case is a $9,000 +/- book, not $12,500. But I agree that is certainly looks very sharp. Weird that c-link doesn't allow for resubmission to CGC and refund if it comes up restored. I mean they could easily make it conditional to the seller as well. I don't know why they would not want to out the book if it's restored It certainly wouldn't do their reputation any good if it ended up being trimmed, or worse. Actually, I thought that a 6.0 copy would be int he $7000 range +/-. So the current bid is pretty much in par with the fmv price. Book looks great! Looks better than its assigned grade I think. But, as we all know, PGX are not the most reliable graders in the business when it comes to detecting restoration, trimming, etc. Since the book was already graded by a third party, C-Link wouldn't be liable for whatever the book would grade out if re-submitted. I think it's a fair statement to make.
  3. Worst case scenario, the book gets a purple label and trimmed if sent to CGC Best case scenario, the book gets graded as a 6.0 in a blue label.
  4. Well, I just received an email from C-Link regarding their policy with PGX if say the book was cracked, then submitted to CGC and found out it was restored. This is what they said: "To accept a return on a PGX book - it needs to remain in the holder. So cracking it out would void that possibility." Looks like it's a gamble..
  5. Anyone who has done their homework and is spending money on expensive comics like this should know how to distinguish between an original copy and a reprint. Clearly looking at the scans the book is a reprint.
  6. Book does present better than its assigned grade.. I wonder what brought the grade down?
  7. I wish I had the funds for it.. I would've been all over it for sure. I'd max at around $55k
  8. At least they should have a back cover scan of the book
  9. It's all good for me! Beautiful book! Thanks for sharing! a book I'd like to own and on my want list
  10. Anyone have the cojones to buy it?
  11. Nice price! THought it would end higher
  12. Hype or no hype from the Avengers movie, Hulk 1s will always be on the up and up and always gonna be on most want list
  13. Signatures are like an amateurish way of putting color touches on your book
  14. Congrats B! You are certainly racking up those pre-robin Tecs!
  15. Thanks for the responses guys. Looks like I'll keep the book as is and unpressed. The set is not going anywhere. I may think about reholdering down the road to get a new micro chamber paper placed for the pages.
  16. Thanks guys for all the nice comments! This was a run that at the last minute, I needed to have. At first I was only interested in the Hulk #1, but the owner said that he would only sell the #1 if I bought the whole set. So after about 5 minutes of thought, I said "let's do it!" And I love mini runs like this. It's easy, fast, and doesn't take up a lot of space. But, I must say, it is quite $$$. I've been contemplating since the Hulk #1 is in an old label.. Should I leave as it, have it reslabbed and pressed, or should I have it re-holdered?
  17. Well, since I do not have a group shot right now of my Hulk 1-6 set, I thought I'd show individual scans instead. All books came from the same owner I bought it from. Enjoy
  18. Prices on this book right now are If you have a copy, sell em now and pick up another one when the hype dies down for a "discounted price"
  19. It's on the safety deposit box so cant do it at this time
  20. I'm glad I picked up the complete Hulk set 1-6 before the hype
  21. I have both bought and sold books through Sparkle City. A couple of my books actually went for way below fmv ( we are talking about a 5 figure book here) and others I was pleased with the final hammer price. So I really don't think that any shilling is involved. I have also bought the most expensive book I've ever paid for and thought that I got a great deal on it. To each his own but sparkle city is A-ok.
