I think Showcase #4 will bounce back soon seeing that there are not many copies out in the market. The reason why we are seeing all these SC #22's is because of the movie hype. I also think the movie has something to do with the increases in price as it is with any other superhero movie.

I believe Verzyl has one. Very nice set of books and that couch ain't half bad. verzyl has more than one...he bought my cgc 3.5 blue last year too (thumbs u I remember that book last year at SDCC.. Boy I wanted it, but didnt have the funds to spend for it Still looking for a 1.0-2.0 copy though

Holy cow What a sale that was!! Definitely blew away my expectations I remember when that same book was listed on Comiclink approx. 6-7 years ago for 6K. It sat and it sat. How times have changed. Detective Comics 35 is definitely one of THE classic covers , but prices for this book have gone bzuuurk over last couple years.... Well, I can't complain about the sale I guess I'm sitting pretty on my copy

Quite a bit of volume lately in the 2.0-3.0 ish area. On another note, a SC23 7.0 crm/ow sold for over $900 today. I was following that book and I didn't like that thick spine roll. Actually, I predicted the book to end at $900

Better investment.. it's a toss up for me as well between AS 8 and Sens #1, but I'd probably go with AS 8 for the long-term. Better cover, hands down Sens #1

I really am considering it. But that'd be a super major purchase for me, and the resto gots me worried. If it's really limited to some CT, I can hang with that. I'd rather have a nice looking copy with a bit of CT than a beater that's pure. But if there's been more done to it? It makes me skittish. So, does anyone know of a way to get some reliable, quickie resto checking done in NYC? The seller sounds on the level, and I pretty much trust that I'd be able to return the thing within 7 days. But could I get it checked that quickly? Man o man, I really want a Showcase 4. Run it by Metro and let Vincent take a gander at it. +1 I was just about to say that

I was telling gator recently that his trip has reawakened my dormant yearnings... Having spent 32 years living and travelling in The East I would infinitely prefer to live there than in the first world. No disrespect to Dark Knight's opinion, which others will surely share - but I think living with the creature comforts of the first world can shorten your life! (Having said which, if there is one of god's creatures I would gladly see exterminated it is the mosquito!) What I find intriguing is that there seem to be quite a few boardies - yourself included Dark Knight? - with broadly similar experience of the east....ah me... No disrespect taken at all (thumbs u I appreciate your views and opinions as well as others. When I was a baby till about 12ish, I was living in a third world country (Philippines). I enjoyed my years there learning the culture and seeing how the poor were treated. I felt bad everytime they go to one car after another begging for money in busy streets. Also seeing how the government is corrupt is what probably made the country the way it is. On the bright side, whether you are rich or you are poor there, I get the feeling that everyone gets along and is happy with their lifestyle for the most part. I see people living in the squatters singing, spending time with their family, helping each other with daily duties and routines, etc. And yep those darn mosquitoes!!!! Especially the ones carrying the dengue disease in which killed a lot of people in the Philippines including my cousin's supposed to be husband who died before they got married .

Welcome back to the states Rick Glad you are back home safely and that you have learned something on your trip. Not a lot of people get to experience how it is like living in a third world country. But after one has experienced it, they get to appreciate life better and how fortunate and blessed he/she feels living in a first world country.
