  1. You have the nearly complete Bat cover run in 4.0 blue , right? Don't know if that would be a good idea - your dog might have a heart attack.... Yep, they just look soo uniform and nice all together
  2. hmm maybe i should take a pic of my dog with my tecs too
  3. Nice pic! Love how he sticks his tongue out too
  4. The amount of work done to the book will determine what designation the book gets. Any piece added will likely get a moderate at least, so just fixing a cover (don't forget about color touch and repair to the artwork either) or one wrap (centerfold usually) will knock the book into MP. If you end up fixing multiple wraps you are looking at an extensive job. I'd rather keep the book trimmed and relatively unrestored at that point. Good enought for me. It just boggles me that a single tiny piece added would automatically get moderate at the very least. I thought I saw a label with a small piece added and still received a slight resto. notation. Of course I could be wrong.
  5. if you have to leaf cast or physically add an 8" by sliver or 10" by sliver, it is extensive (maybe mod) Oh really. Wow, just that much added can already be extensive maybe mod. of lucky? But if it's just an inch or less that was trimmed at say the edge of a cover, then slight i guess?
  6. Even with just a slight piece added to the trimmed area if the trimming was very minute? Wouldn't that constitute as slight restoration which would be valued more than a trimmed copy? Just talking about the cover of course
  7. A thought just popped up in my head. Why hasn't anyone thought of adding the missing trimmed piece of a book by restoration? I mean if a large pieces that were missing can be added, why not fix trimming?
  8. All I know is that I got outbid on it and lost
  9. I think 29 and 35 are equally tough. We are just seeing more 35's out of the woodwork for sale. Doesn't mean that there are less 29's out there.
  10. I remembered that book being sold from Metro a couple of years back I believe
  11. Holy cow!!!! Quite a haul you got there Andre! Congrats!
  12. Id like to see a picture of the book with today's newpaper behind it
  13. I assembled the first 500 issues back in the 70s - 90s, then had to sell them. I swore I would never put the run together again. I was wrong, I'm back at it. Slowly though. No rush. I've got 200 up about 75% complete. Once those are done, I'll work on the first 200. So, in about 10 years I should be complete Good luck with it Bill. I really enjoyed assembling my run and still love flipping through the books. It was fun the first time, so this time should be twice as fun! I'm also collecting Detective 1 - 800 or so. Long way to go with that bad boy though. I'm about half way home I'd guess. That's quite a feat! Good luck with your run
  14. Let us know what CGC grade it received
  15. Let me see if this has happened to me before...
  16. Tec 31 for me if the conditions are stated the same as above.
  17. I agree, that's a remarkable price for the CHIPPED copy. Well, at least it had off-white pages. Seems like 5.0+ is still holding up well. That 8.5 press copy was being bid as it was an 8.0 on ComicLink. Imagine if Heritage had that 8.5 press copy in their auction. Here's my 5.0 off-white copy front and back cover. What do you think, better eye appeal? That's a great looking 5.0.. I think it even looks better than the 5.5 on Heritage as the spine creases on on the book looked deep to me
  18. Been saying this before and I'll say it again.. Det. #33 is soooo undervalued its ridiculous!?!? This issue contains Batman's origin retold,, How cool is that? It's like owning a mini Tec 27.. Same with Bat 1
  19. COngrats on the nice purchase I sorta recognize that copy too in the past
  20. Wow not bad at all.. So how long did it take you to learn photoshop?
