  1. It's definitely up there. My former copy!!! I believe I've seen a 1.0 that sold a year or two ago with great eye appeal such as this. Can't believe this will be the 3rd time it'll be auctioned off since I did back in 2021
  2. I think CGC should invest in buying more video cameras and put them up at each work station to keep an eye on their employees if it hasn't been done so yet.
  3. Was formerly an 8.0 copy. Even if the book did get a grade bump, I don't think it would matter much at all. This will sell very well. Can't wait to see how it ends! https://www.comicconnect.com/item/330734
  4. Yeah when I saw that AF 15 on ebay before even knowing it is linked to Mike, I thought it was very odd how the picture is blurry and only one pic was taken. Very suspicious for being a high end comic, so I ended up passing on the buy price. Too many red flags, glad I didn't take a chance.
  5. Looks like another book has been listed on ebay. Does this belong to anyone on here? https://www.ebay.com/itm/256382461265?hash=item3bb195e551:g:OTQAAOSwMR9lqpQf
  6. Damn getting basically free money out of customers books and yet no mention of Mike hooking up with hookers? He's doing it all wrong
  7. Yeah I don't buy brittle books. I may buy a slightly brittle paged book if it is truly scarce. The Bat 1 that sold would have gone for a lot more if it had supple pages. There were quite a few collectors who passed on bidding because of the PQ.
  8. It's a rare Batman "Shock Corner" cover. GOD BLESS ... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) I was going to say something similar that this may be the 1st ever "role reversal" cover between Batman and Robin
  9. Geeze, things went from bad to worst. Not only is he selling client's books and stealing money, but he seems to have an alcohol and drug problem and now a sex predator?
  10. Looking at the Curator 9.8 copy, it looks like the colors especially the reds look washed out/faded compared to when the book was in the 9.6 holder. I'm not sure if it's due to how the book was scanned or if there was some sort of wet cleaning done prior to it being re-graded again and achieved the 9.8 grade. Would help if someone took a picture of the book in hand as a 9.6 and also with its new grade to compare.
  11. I predicted between $1.2-1.3 mil. I thought it was a strong price. Market looks to be rebounding for some books.
  12. The tear... the "marvel tear" Not present in Kelly version Also, look at the bottom edge of the book where the wave is at under the letter "A." The kellysuperheroes copy has 2 dots. The CGC graded copy as 3 black dots. Different copies in my opinion.
  13. I believe so. Still an ongoing investigation and I'm sure more books will be added to the current list periodically.
  14. CGC has just made a new announcement. Anyways, here is a link to some books that were affected with the switcheroo. CGC announcement
  15. Looks to me that a lot of plastic has been used for this figure
  16. Even if Mike does the right thing (I mean how long have these shenanigans been going on for now?), I would not trust sending my books and money to him. In my opinion, his reputation as a comic book restoration/pressing expert has diminished with no recourse. I mean there is one client of his who has been waiting about 10 years to get his high valued book back!? That's insane!! There are a few other guys I trust sending my books to who have done a fantastic job.
  17. Yes the common jersey cards do have a jersey swatch and the market value of those are only a few dollars to a few hundred depending on player. If it were to be replaced by say a nice jersey patch of maybe a piece of the team logo, NBA logoman, or even a four colored part of the jersey, the value jumps big time.
  18. Jordan is probably near or at the top. I am not a card collector, but I watch the market. They are even faking the high tech refractor cards, uniform swatch cards, etc etc. and the fakes are so good they are getting past PSA on occasion Yup! Even con artists easily removing an original game worn jersey piece of a card and replacing it with an actual jersey patch from a jersey you buy off a store to boost its value.
  19. Yup! Sadly it is! I actually had a Jordan RC that was a both a counterfeited card AND a fake PSA slab holder. Everything about it looks real until someone found pictures of the original card with the original holder of it in the PSA archives.
  20. When it comes to providing better security measures for slabbed books, I think the book's graded serial number should be etched on all four sides of the inner well. So if say someone were to compromise the outer shell and try to make a swap and re-grade, well cgc can look at the etching and see if it matches the serial number on the label. If one were to try and remove the book from the inner well, then they would need to cut over the serial number. Just an idea
  21. I am very unfamiliar with WATA grading. Do they ever x-ray games to make sure that all inserts are inside to make sure nothing was tampered with or it was resealed by the store? I have mentioned this with VHS Grading. When I worked for Disney in the 90's we would take any VHS cassettes that people unsuccessfully tried to shoplift. We would put most of it back together and we had an "official" shrink wrap machine back there with the Disney logo stuff. No they don't x-ray the game to see the contents inside. Because the box of the game comes as being opened already (CIB), the person taking the pre-grading photos can remove the inserts inside and take pictures. Also WATA and I'm sure the other video game companies can also tell whether the game was originally shrink-wrapped from the manufacturer or if it was a re-seal. There is a specific way on how these games were sealed back then that any person who has been in that hobby for years can tell whether it's factory sealed or re-sealed.
  22. This is most likely the way to go. Hi resolution scans of both front and back showcasing indicators might be the only viable solution. Now, the next step is to improve the wifi and the cellular problems at shows This absolutely can be done. The video game grading company WATA has been doing this since they first started grading games. They would take pre-grading pictures (if it is an open box) of the game itself, box, any posters or inserts if available, etc. front and back. If the game is sealed, they take pictures front, back, and all sides. I believe only the original submitter can view the pre-grading pictures. If WATA can do it with more components coming from a game, then CGC absolutely can. CGC can also include specific pictures of any special inserts like a MJ or maybe the section where a missing page was.
