  1. Looks like the GRR of key silver age books are a better investment than the originals
  2. I’m not sure the math adds up to profit here either. I think any complete copy, restored, qualified, married etc. gets around 400k now. What does a coverless copy go for now? 150-200k? Even if you got your coverless copy for 20-30k a decade or so ago, you might just make more and for far less effort simply selling your coverless copy. My guess is it went to so someone that wants to marry it and keep it… or it was fought over by a couple big money players who might try and flip it again on its own in a few years. The last complete coverless copy sold last year for $78k at Heritage. Not sure how much a coverless complete copy would sell for in today's market. Might be that same owner who won it at Heritage may have bought the covers that recently sold. The last complete Tec 27 (The DC Universe copy) CGC 5.5 mod/ext resto sold for $275k last month. That should give an idea more or less how much a Tec 27 in restored mid grade is worth.
  3. Not a pre-robin Tec but if anyone is looking for a Tec 38 CGC 8.0, a copy just got listed in CL Tec 38
  4. So which one of you guys bought it in order to complete the whole book?
  5. Tec books especially pre-Robin's are near and dear to my heart
  6. The back cover being married to the front cover is highly suspicious of it being from a different book like an Action 12
  7. $81k already with a possibility of the back cover not being from an actual Tec 27 book!?
  8. Who was the seller of the CGC NG earlier this year for $126k? ComicConnect auction
  9. Who was the seller of the CGC NG earlier this year for $126k? ComicConnect auction
  10. If buying property by the beach, just don't purchase in FL where a lot of hurricanes happen.
  11. You know I actually think it makes sense, impressive and nuts, but not that insane. I mean considering what the .5 went for, what a coverless was selling for several years ago and is likely worth now. If any page was going to do a number like this, it would be this page, or page 5. Agreed that this page is the page to own because of its importance. Not sure what kind of content is in page 5, but I also think that the one page where it shows Superman holding up the car exactly like the front cover is pretty iconic. The last complete coverless copy (CGC NG) sold earlier this year for $126k. So it's either that complete coverless sold too cheap or this single page sold for too much. That single page is severely brittled too as you can see. I'd probably pay $20k tops for it in that condition (most likely I wouldn't even if I needed/wanted it), but that's just me.
  12. Insane price. It appears to be a FOMO win if you ask me.
  13. 5.0 looks very nice for the grade, better eye appeal than the 6.0. Might be upgradeable?
  14. It's right about the estimate I have for this copy. Because it's graded by the other company, there are many concerns from bidders with regards to the resto work, could potentially grade out lower from CGC if submitted. Also, the amateur work done does not help.
