  1. Those customers who had sent their books to Hero a year or so ago, you better act fast due to the statute of limitations when it comes to these things. I think it's around 2-3 years where you can report him and hopefully get your money and/or books back? After that, well maybe there is nothing else you can do.
  2. Thanks. Why didnt I think to look there? Lol Because maybe it is the very last lot of the auction , which I think is quite unusual given that is one of the more important and high valued books in that auction. It should be given priority and should've been sold at one of the earlier lots.
  3. And if Hero’s says “no” to this hypothetical posse knocking on his door, what then? Have the police get involved and show evidence that this guy has your property and is not releasing them to you. Then maybe try to obtain a search warrant to search his property if he still refuses to open his door.
  4. Check out the pre-Robin Tec thread. A few discussions regarding the Bat and Tec books. I'm wondering if anyone know what the final bid was for the Flash Comics #1 Ashcan? I saw that it didn't meet reserve. Thanks!
  5. You guys have his address.. Pay the man a visit and get your books back!
  6. If I'm honest, except for the obvious key books I thought prices were pretty soft, the early Bats in particular. The grades were admittedly low and some were heavily restored, but even so I think the floor for *any* copy on e.g. ebay is probably higher. It's tough to determine a fmv for restored books as each one is unique. I didn't keep track of the prices for the Bat books, just the pre-Robin Tecs. Admittedly, I thought the Bat 1 restored copy went for a cheap price. The Tec 27 I was thinking between $200k-$250k max because a 7.0 with extensive(A-5) restoration sold last year for around $290k. Tec 29, well there's really nothing to compare to as I haven't seen a low graded restored copy sell probably ever. The copy that may come close to it was a 3.5 conserved with a married back cover that sold for $22,500 back in March of 2020 just about before prices started going crazy. Tec 31 & 33 sold for about right, maybe a bit lower than expected. Tec 36 did well. Only copy I can somewhat compare it too was a same grade 2.5 but universal sold for first $15k in May of 2021 and that same copy sold again on July same year for $11k. Tec 37 sold for about what I expected. Closest one I can compare was the Bob Kane copy at a 0.5 that sold for $7k this year. Of course that copy has that extra bump in value.
  7. Great video! I used to own a 52 Mantle PSA 1, but sold too early for only $10k at that time. Had I waited a few more years, I could've potentially sold for around $40k during the peak
  8. I'm trying to understand the BP %. So for items worth $100k or less, there will be a BP of 25%. For items over $100k, there is an additional 20% in BP so does that mean a total of 45% BP for items over $100k!? This is what it says: "5. The “hammer price” is the price at which a lot is sold or the highest accepted bid at the close of the lot. The “purchase price” paid by the winning bidder is the aggregate of (a) the hammer price, (b) a buyer’s premium of 25% of the hammer price up to $100,000, plus 20% of the amount above $100,000"
  9. Definitely an outlier . It seems that the winning bidder was aiming for the "White Pages" for this book.
  10. He did. I can't remember the price, but I remember he was tremendously frustrated that the price came down so much, from its Covid peak. I think it sold for roughly $90k at the CL Exchange
  11. Selling this beautiful copy of Amazing Spider-Man CGC 5.5 Universal with offwhite-white pages. Copy looks fantastic for its grade with a very clean spine and the reds on this book are deep and rich! Normally, the reds especially on Spidey are orangey in color or faded. The CGC slab is in excellent condition with no cracks or any defects. Asking: $23,000 Shipping is free in the U.S.A., only shipping locally due to the high value. I accept PP, Zelle, Venmo, Checks, or M.O. Time payments available upon request with a 20% non-refundable down payment. I accept a 3 day return policy if you are not satisfied as long as it is returned in the same condition, buyer pays for return shipping and handling costs. No HOS'ers or members from the probation list please. Any other questions, please ask. Thanks!
  12. I dunno. I don't think we've seen both covers of a Superman #1 sell, at least not in a very long time. I personally wouldn't pay that much even if I had a complete coverless copy.
  13. That was a steal of a price! It went so low because not a lot of people were in the know about that auction site, including myself. Watch for that book to be back up for sale soon at a higher price.
  14. This is probably an Ask CGC question. I've never seen a page encapsulated with a facsimile cover. It's usually coverless copies that are either complete or missing some pages.
  15. What makes it even weirder is that the original certification 270blah is up on CGC, so I don't know what Goldin could have been referring to about a new cert#, or why you couldn't pull it up before. Here's the original cert. https://www.cgccomics.com/certlookup/2707935001/ Looks like CGC corrected that mistake because when I checked before, it had no grade assigned nor grader's notes. Very strange why Goldin said that the book was re-holdered with a new certification number (4236253005), which was provided to me in an email.
  16. Damn sweet looking books Lou, congrats!!! I would definitely have those books as part of my collection long term.
  17. The recent beautiful CGC 8.0 copy sold on CL for $258k. When I checked the grader's notes, unfortunately there was some staple rust migration into the centerfold. Doesn't show on the book, but it seems minor. This sale is higher than the avg sale price back in 2020, but lower in 2021. So, it looks like we're right on track.
  18. Yeah that poop stained copy was a major eye sore. I think I estimated it around $200k max
  19. I saw a PL 17 CGC 2.0 "unrestored" sell for $11k at a live IG sales stream. The reason why I placed unrestored in quotes is because it had a lot of color touch removal on the spine and mid front cover
  20. I might be in the minority here, but I believe there is an ever nicer copy than the Punch 12 CGC 8.0 that sold. I wonder if there is a copy in BZ's collection? . If I had a lot of money to spend on a Punch 12, I definitely would not have gone that high of a bid. If a higher graded copy surfaces, that would literally kill the value of the Crowley copy I think. Too much risk for that price point.
