  1. Who was the seller of the CGC NG earlier this year for $126k? ComicConnect auction
  2. Who was the seller of the CGC NG earlier this year for $126k? ComicConnect auction
  3. If buying property by the beach, just don't purchase in FL where a lot of hurricanes happen.
  4. You know I actually think it makes sense, impressive and nuts, but not that insane. I mean considering what the .5 went for, what a coverless was selling for several years ago and is likely worth now. If any page was going to do a number like this, it would be this page, or page 5. Agreed that this page is the page to own because of its importance. Not sure what kind of content is in page 5, but I also think that the one page where it shows Superman holding up the car exactly like the front cover is pretty iconic. The last complete coverless copy (CGC NG) sold earlier this year for $126k. So it's either that complete coverless sold too cheap or this single page sold for too much. That single page is severely brittled too as you can see. I'd probably pay $20k tops for it in that condition (most likely I wouldn't even if I needed/wanted it), but that's just me.
  5. Insane price. It appears to be a FOMO win if you ask me.
  6. 5.0 looks very nice for the grade, better eye appeal than the 6.0. Might be upgradeable?
  7. It's right about the estimate I have for this copy. Because it's graded by the other company, there are many concerns from bidders with regards to the resto work, could potentially grade out lower from CGC if submitted. Also, the amateur work done does not help.
  8. Those customers who had sent their books to Hero a year or so ago, you better act fast due to the statute of limitations when it comes to these things. I think it's around 2-3 years where you can report him and hopefully get your money and/or books back? After that, well maybe there is nothing else you can do.
  9. Thanks. Why didnt I think to look there? Lol Because maybe it is the very last lot of the auction , which I think is quite unusual given that is one of the more important and high valued books in that auction. It should be given priority and should've been sold at one of the earlier lots.
  10. And if Hero’s says “no” to this hypothetical posse knocking on his door, what then? Have the police get involved and show evidence that this guy has your property and is not releasing them to you. Then maybe try to obtain a search warrant to search his property if he still refuses to open his door.
  11. Check out the pre-Robin Tec thread. A few discussions regarding the Bat and Tec books. I'm wondering if anyone know what the final bid was for the Flash Comics #1 Ashcan? I saw that it didn't meet reserve. Thanks!
  12. You guys have his address.. Pay the man a visit and get your books back!
  13. If I'm honest, except for the obvious key books I thought prices were pretty soft, the early Bats in particular. The grades were admittedly low and some were heavily restored, but even so I think the floor for *any* copy on e.g. ebay is probably higher. It's tough to determine a fmv for restored books as each one is unique. I didn't keep track of the prices for the Bat books, just the pre-Robin Tecs. Admittedly, I thought the Bat 1 restored copy went for a cheap price. The Tec 27 I was thinking between $200k-$250k max because a 7.0 with extensive(A-5) restoration sold last year for around $290k. Tec 29, well there's really nothing to compare to as I haven't seen a low graded restored copy sell probably ever. The copy that may come close to it was a 3.5 conserved with a married back cover that sold for $22,500 back in March of 2020 just about before prices started going crazy. Tec 31 & 33 sold for about right, maybe a bit lower than expected. Tec 36 did well. Only copy I can somewhat compare it too was a same grade 2.5 but universal sold for first $15k in May of 2021 and that same copy sold again on July same year for $11k. Tec 37 sold for about what I expected. Closest one I can compare was the Bob Kane copy at a 0.5 that sold for $7k this year. Of course that copy has that extra bump in value.
  14. Great video! I used to own a 52 Mantle PSA 1, but sold too early for only $10k at that time. Had I waited a few more years, I could've potentially sold for around $40k during the peak
  15. I'm trying to understand the BP %. So for items worth $100k or less, there will be a BP of 25%. For items over $100k, there is an additional 20% in BP so does that mean a total of 45% BP for items over $100k!? This is what it says: "5. The “hammer price” is the price at which a lot is sold or the highest accepted bid at the close of the lot. The “purchase price” paid by the winning bidder is the aggregate of (a) the hammer price, (b) a buyer’s premium of 25% of the hammer price up to $100,000, plus 20% of the amount above $100,000"
  16. Definitely an outlier . It seems that the winning bidder was aiming for the "White Pages" for this book.
  17. He did. I can't remember the price, but I remember he was tremendously frustrated that the price came down so much, from its Covid peak. I think it sold for roughly $90k at the CL Exchange
