  1. Well, I guessed $800k at the AF 15 thread. It's practically at that price right now so yea . I failed to mention that my guess was after online bidding has ended and right before the live bidding
  2. Well I just hope the news and the CDC can be honest with all of us about the severity of the virus and not withhold anything. I hope it gets contained and not get worst. Con season coming soon with WonderCon and SDCC during the summer. Would make or break my trips.
  3. Oh and using your bare hands is the way to go when flipping through comics, I've never used gloves. Whether it's a $1 book or a 5 figure book doesnt matter (of course I'm extra careful when handling more valuable books). Just dont have shaky hands and sweaty palms
  4. I think we will see more and more people buying comics online than thru dealers in person because of the coronavirus.
  5. Those who have bought during what seemed to be the peak year for AF 15 back during summer of 2017 was it? Yes their sky is falling. Heck I'd be depressed and pissed off if I was one of those buyers during the course of the year. Who knows when values start to pick up again. I have no clue, but hoping they will at some point. Like I've been saying before when we see AF 15 copies selling for much less than they did a year or so ago, it means most of the keys will follow suit, and it did. There are I'm sure some exceptions but overall it's been down.
  6. I need to know who his manicurist is
  7. Thought owner just wanted to have pages counted for possibly fear of damaging the book or didn't know number of pages/how to count properly if he were to do it himself. But yea if he was submitting to get graded or pre-screened for restoration than yeah it's a different story and everything you mentioned is true.
  8. I don't understand why the owner wouldn't just count the pages himself? Seems pretty straight forward.
  9. Gojo pumice soap may be the best soap to use to handle comic books. Removes the dirt, oil, etc instantly.
  10. Who will be the first brave soul this year to auction off their complete Tec 27 no reserve....
  11. If you're talking auction books, most auction books are usually consigned months before the auctions start so I don't think it's related to coronovirus scare which is barely 2 months old and the markets have only been correcting for the last week or two, when most of these books were already ending. Yep auction books and wasn't even thinking about the effects of the coronavirus with the economic impact it is making when I made that statement.
  12. And another.... I remember that error copy, personally not a fan of books like that.
  13. By the amount of GA keys such as Cap 1, Supes 1, Bat 1 coming to market in such a short period of time (specially for Cap 1 and Supes 1 where in previous years a few copies per year pop up for sale), yeah some are panicking.
  14. Yes that is true that pressing existed before CGC but it is much much more mainstream now. All I'm saying is that there is likely a higher probability that a book with its older 1st gen. holder was never pressed than one coming from a newer holder, that is all. Not saying that all books in a 1st gen holder is unpressed.
  15. Going Sat for sure, dunno about Friday. Sunday won't be there due to Easter. I didn't even realize it until Terry mentioned it above
  16. Same ^. I've mostly consigned my books with CC and this year it's not looking I'll be doing that.
  17. how did the cap 1s perform ? I think they under performed, but wasn't surprised at all due to the multiple copies available within a short period of time.
  18. Didnt Reece Comics sell a Cap 3 5.0 recently for $45k? If that sale went through then the one that sold for 32k was a bargain still.
  19. Whether the book was pressed or not, I've already have it programmed in my head that a graded book was already pressed unless it's in a 1st generation early holder.
  20. I guess Torpedo wasn't sold on the offers for the book and just went the auction route. Good luck to them! Pages sticking out, likely pressed
  21. We'll see how it goes for the 9.4 copy. Here are a few factors to consider: 1) there are around 6 copies (possibly more out there) in 9.4 and the pool of buyers looking to add one in their collection is very small 2) will there be new bidders entering? I have a feeling that a few of the bidders with deep pockets already have a copy they own so would result in less bidding perhaps. 3) let's face it, SA books have been down in value for the most part last year and early this year or stayed the same price range for the past few years which typically would translate to a lower hammer price. Who knows when it will pick up again. Now is more of a buyer's market.
  22. Dont you guys think Snake Eyes is a little bit pricey? I wanna get one too but I dunno I think it's too much. Might wait it out.
