  1. Very cool, and I do like the new Spidey image much much better than the 1st one they had
  2. That copy looks to not have any marvel chipping too
  3. If anyone is looking for a 29, there's a nice 3.0 cop at the CL Exchange. High buy price but you can make offers.
  4. Yeah I passed on that Tec 33 because of the name in pen writing. Just a turn off for me. Cant believe Stephen Ritter tried to sell it a full grade higher, actually doesn't surprise me because I bought a raw book from him before and it graded out a full grade lower than what he graded. I wonder if he does a lot of this crack out of slab to sell raw at a higher grade sort of thing
  5. Time to revive this thread.. No I do not have a new Pre-Robin Tec book, but just wanted to comment on the Tec 33 CGC "3.5" that just ended at CL this evening. Book was previously in a 3.0 holder about 7 months ago where it sold on CL for around $27,800. Hammer price today as a 3.5 was $2,7250. I guess the good ole upgrade for a quick flip didn't work for the consignor
  6. Enjoy the book Dan! Happy it's going to a great home :). I was lucky enough to have flipped through the book, smelled the pages, etc before it was stabbed. Can't get any better than being an owner of a Marvel 1, you're in elite company
  7. And the ship continues to sink.. sold for less than what it sold for back in 2015 according to GPA. Whoever paid $70k for a 6.5 copy last year must be in his pants
  8. Overall, I felt that most books sold for lower than what I expected except for a few (Marvel 1, FF #4 9.6, JIM 83 9.2, Supes 1 1.0). Was most surprised at how low the Action 7 1.8 sl. brittle, Cap 1 6.0, early Spidey's hammered in at. This is what happens when there are a bunch of available copies out there to choose from or wait on (Bat 1 and Cap 1 come to mind). Possible also that it is the worst time of year to sell books with the holidays coming up.
  9. I agree, but not everyone has the time to do that just because they have a lot of expendable cash to spend on a funny book. Sometimes they just want the best of the best and bragging rights. Who cares what the previous history was. Book looks good, fits my uber high grade collection, I'll take it!
  10. Surprised that the Cap #103 Skull OA cover "only" sold for $288k compared to what the Joker and Crumb OA sold for today. I was thinking min. $350k? Now I'm no OA expert nor collector, but this OA is very unique in that the OA has some differences with the actual comic book printed. That to me is one heck of a premium alone. I dunno of any OA with that uniqueness especially a cover. Congrats to the winning bidder. A fine piece!
  11. That's funny. Once an offer has already been rejected by the seller, that offer should already be null and void and seller cannot go back to accept it later down the line. I think the buyer should also have the power to accept or reject that 2nd offer.
  12. How high will it go!?! I had a conservative estimated value at around $850k due to the history about the book but man this is also pretty cool to see. I can think of a few reasons why we are at this price point: A) Some of the top bidders for this book have no known knowledge that the book was previously an 8.5, now upgraded to a 9.4 B) Maybe they knew but the extensive historical timeline of this book to where it is now (thanks to Masterchief and others who have contributed), the Windy City copy, has played a major role to its value C) This is the highest graded copy so far and prospective buyers want to own this book at all costs.. Period. D) Combination of any or all of the above Nevertheless, whatever the reasons are as to why it's up to this point is certainly exciting for me. Gonna be fun to watch and see what the final hammer price is
  13. Maybe followed by his Allentown Tec 27? Was just about to bring up the AT Tec 27. It would give the Church Action 1 a run for its money for most valuable comic book in the hobby I think. I would lean towards the Tec 27
