  1. What do you mean? How risky is a standard dry clean?
  2. Ditto. No brittleness I can see. The book is laid open and the pages look tanned but supple (though that's hard to tell from the pics). Interior staining will drop the grade a lot. however, 2.0 is harsh imo. No back cover scan so I can only throw out a wild guess but this book looks VG-ish to me.
  3. I think this book has been undervalued for a while. It tougher than Punch 12 and, imo, a better cover image. But it trades publicly so infrequently. I'm going to guess 30-40k
  4. Here is the highest grade I've seen with what I would call substantial foxing. Personally I don't agree with the grade, but if you're only asking about CGC standards then it's clear that you can get to VF/NM with heavy foxing. If I was buying a book like this I'd be willing to pay much less than if it was the same book in the same grade but with spine ticks, creasing etc bringing the grade down.
  5. I mean I can't guarantee it, but a miswrap isn't trimming, so I don't see why it would come back trimmed. If you reholder it they just change the holder and the grade stays the same (unless there is obvious post-slabbing damage to the book).
  6. Great buyer. Paid promptly for some expensive OA. All in all a hassle free and pleasant transaction.
  7. A classic. Here is a cover prelim for the 1973 Ace paperback (also a classic IMO)
  8. I don't want to fuel the fire but I have a feeling there will be more.
  9. Looks restored to me. Large amounts of piece fill on the BC, tear seals FC top and BC left edge (they are not printers creases), piece fill in the areas where there would have been marvel chipping on the front right edge, heavily applied CT on the top FC (it looks like there is white paint on the top staple). Can you take very close up photos of the top front cover text around the letter A and the 12c price. Close enough to see the dot matrix.
  10. Propaganda material. Can you believe these were greeting cards?
  11. Hi All I have an important piece of science fiction art that has pretty noticeable foxing. I'd love to preserve it and stop the foxing from getting worse. I have spoken to a few conservators and they said it's possible. I just relied on an internet search to find them but I was wondering if there is anyone boardies would recommend? The art is lead pencil on illustration board. Thanks so much! Jake
  12. 1 on census (not including this one since it's mislabelled). HA sold a 4.5 with rusty staples for $2400.
