  1. Oh man that Supes 1 sale is LOW. The same book sold in Dec 2021 for 1 million more. I'd be annoyed if I was the consignor.
  2. That is a strong price. Is it just me or are the scrapes on the FC resto removal? I guess they could be tape pulls?
  3. Certainly seems to be the case. Given the large stain on the FC that book had no upgrade potential either. So I guess this is reflective of demand rather than someone hoping to CPR.
  4. I'm not sure how unpopular this will be but I've always disliked nearly all of Mac Raboy's art. He's terrible imo.
  5. I wouldn't rather a Suspense 8 but I wholeheartedly agree that the anatomy on S3 is totally janky.
  6. PCH doesn't seem to be experiencing the same downturn we are seeing in copper, bronze, and silver age. It's a pity for me as I thought this might be a buying opportunity.
  7. There have always been active collectors of this material but PCH books haven't always been as desirable as they are now. When I first joined the boards there were a few threads considering whether prices would go up, down, or sideways. In the past decade they have steadily appreciated and in the last five-ish years prices have really taken off.
  8. Chamber of Chills 19 CGC 9.6 102k Nov 2021 Captain America Comics 46 9.2 162k June 2021 Captain America Comics 36 9.6 204k Nov 2021 All sold on Heritage
  9. Awesome list! You missed the Fantastic Comics 3 Church copy which sold for 243,000 in June 2017. Also I assume by "Suspense Comics #39 6.5 - $280k Feb 2022 (Clink)" you meant "Suspense Comics #3 6.5 - $280k March 2022". There are also two previous sales of this book on HA for six figures.
  10. Don't send the COA. Keep it and when you get the book back put it with the slab.
  11. How do you know this when you joined on Thursday? My interactions with him have always been cordial.
  12. I think you might be misinterpreting @1950's war comics intentions, this kind of humour is standard on the boards. It's usually considered good natured ribbing. This community is generally awesome and inclusive.
  13. I think one of the impediments for manga OA is the lack of material available for purchase. As some people have mentioned there is a tendency for artist not to sell pages. Which you might think would make it rarer and more valuable. But my impression is the market becomes so thin it's a pain to collect and kills the community. Anime art has seen a rise in interest in the last two years. E.g. Ghibli and DBZ cells have started bringing some very strong prices.
  14. Most of the atomic era Avons aren't very hard to find. I wouldn't call this book rare. $2500 is more than it is worth.
  15. Impossible to grade accurately from those pics but from the looks of it the ToT 15 is at least VF+ (8.5). The last 8.5 sale recorded in GPA is for $16800. But you'd need to have it graded and it be free of restoration to get that price. I'd send everything to a good presser like Joey Post and then to CGC.
  16. I agree and am reluctant to change a system that has worked for such a long time. That being said if the influx of scammers continues it might be the case that times have changed and we need to adapt accordingly.
  17. Great run. I only have my extensive restored WC2:
  18. +1000 I spent 2 hrs chatting to them this morning. Multiple people told me contradictory things and they all seemed to be totally clueless.
  19. Charles Burns won't sell any Black Hole pages but did let the covers go.
  20. In most cases the purpose of restoration is to improve the grade. But if done poorly it could bring it down.
