  1. It's a reference to another movie, so it doesn't spoil anything (until after you see the movie or read the poster, is that a spoiler? Uh oh, here's a spoiler, there isn't a transvestite in the movie that I noticed...). It was a joke. Perhaps I could have said I controlled my urge to start singing "The Crying Game".
  2. I saw it last night. Visually stunning, good story and well made. Continues directly from the first movie. But the big impression for me was the sound. Impressive how the theater shook from the opening scene to the end, it's just the lows as the theater I was in wasn't a special sound theater with ATMOS or XD, and I'm thinking I might check out the 3D version in X D to see how it compares. It's long, with trailers it was 2:50. I controlled my urge to yell "She's a man" near the end, though.
  3. Anyone try to put together a list of stolen books thread that could be pinned with the serial numbers listed in one post? Would probably be easy to search if you're looking to buy a graded book online when you ask for a pic.
  4. Is there a thread about the lost comics collections in the flooding? I'm not making light of the loss of property, but I'm sure there are some members that may have substantial collections that are now under water. Some of those collections and special books might include very rare items (like pedigrees) that can't be replaced. Some might have books or collections are are more valuable than their homes? Do we have a list started of the great losses of this disaster? What about Original Art?
  5. Finally, some updated news. https://www.bleedingcool.com/2017/08/11/mark-buckingham-primarily-focused-getting-miracleman-done/
  6. Odd, no thread for this just released movie? It states it's based on the graphic novel The Coldest City .
  7. Impressive Crumb piece for auction in the upcoming Heritage NY auction. Anyone know if this is the cover that Crumb sent Brian Zahn for Zap Comix that was "lost" and later returned to Crumb? https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/covers/robert-crumb-zap-comix-1-unused-cover-original-art-1967-/a/7166-92261.s
  8. Brings back memories of one of my cartoon favorites as a kid. Hopefully it's better then the live action Space Battleship Yamato movie or the Gatchaman/Battle of the Planets/G-Force movie. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/apos-apos-director-andy-muschietti-221700935.html
  9. 3rd one is out. Check out this video on YouTube: http://youtu.be/pKWB-MVJ4sQ

  11. Is there a post credit scene like in most Marvel movies? I didn't want to stick around like most of the audience was at the screening I went to today.
  12. All David had to do was cut off his hand. Here's some info. I picked up. LV223, where Prometheus takes place is one of three moons around the 4th planet in a distant system, the planet is called Calpamos (a gas giant with rings). LV426 is one of the other moons around that same planet, and that's where Alien and Aliens takes place. The Engineer's homeworld, where Shaw and David are headed to is referred to as the 4th planet, but can't be Calpamos because we see in Covenant it's not a gas giant, so it's just a coincidence. Hope that helps someone, it did for me.
  13. Here's something I recently picked up, I don't think there's too many of these out there, especially still sealed after 23 years.
  14. Thought I would post a pic. of this rare item since Craig Yoe who published it just asked me for a pic. (funny enough he waited over 6 years to respond to the IM) I've never seen another copy or it even mentioned anywhere since I got it in 2011. The one most know is the "Special Edition" with the Rick Griffin cover that's in comic book format, but this is the regular edition tabloid paper from 1972. One of these days I'll get the Rick Griffin cover comic book and compare the two.
  15. Is anyone here anymore? Was just checking eBay for some wants and came across this, someone got lucky and it wasn't me: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jesus-Loves-You-Rock-Of-Ages-Vintage-Comic-Book-Zondervan-No-1-Rare-/222492929141?hash=item33cd9cac75%3Ag%3AQ0UAAOSwrhBZBOIv&nma=true&si=h5mN5lTUDxUBHeirnmPg%2BKxHrqA%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  16. I believe I was one of the early people to recommend Train to Busan here, after buying a import DVD with bad English subtitles. Another one I believe I've recommended before, but it you haven't seen it, is Witching & Bit ch ing (sans spaces) from 2013, it's exceptional for taking the viewer on a wild ride not expected (save yourself from reading a description and go in not knowing what you've stepped into). It's available through Netflix, but not on streaming. Or you can get it on amazon, they've got a HD version with English subtitles on streaming if you want to buy it, because the blu-ray doesn't have English subtitles, only the DVD.
  17. Strontium Dog Fan Film There's a 20 minute fan made film of Strontium Dog online for you U.K. 200 A.D. fans. Search facebook for Strontium Dog Fan Film .
  18. Crossover artists that started out in comics With the price the R. Crumb piece going for a record high, I wondered what other artists could do that in the future. There's artists that are both, which are harder to catagorize, like XNO and The Pizz. What successful mainstream artists first started out in comics and what was their first comic work? The two that comes to my head are both punk rock artists. Gary Panter - Hup Raymond Pettibon - Captive Chains Rick Griffin - Moscoso - What are some others?
  19. With the talk about the Basquiat getting twice the previous high. It was the same buyer as the previous high, by the way. But this one got by most, a new high of over $6.5M for a Kieth Haring. Reminded me that Eric Orr was friends with Haring and I think there was one page with Haring's art in Orr's comic book Rappin' Max Robot. Anyone else know of any other comic books with Haring art in it?
  20. It's chump change (that I don't have) compared to the record amount paid for an American artist today. A Basquiat sold for over $110M today. More crazy today, bitcoin is over $1,900 today.
