  1. I didn't see this posted here yet. I liked Ben as Batman although the movie wasn't that good for me, a 5 to 6 out of 10. But this is simply a great little video put out by The Hollywood Reporter. Almost want to cry for him. By the way, there's several "remixes" of this also (like with him having Daredevil flashbacks or different music), search "Sad Affleck".
  2. Read today that 38 years after Realm 7 came out, Realm 8 will be released at the Denver Expo this month in an edition of 1,000. Nice pictures WP.
  3. Anyone order a copy of the recently released version of Beyond Time and Again by Metzger from Fantagraphics? http://www.fantagraphics.com/beyondtimeandagain/
  4. Moscoso was the hold out that didn't sign the deluxe set, I think he wanted more for each signature than they were willing to pay. But I've got a few comix with his signatures in them anyway.
  5. Anyone see that the Complete Wimmen's Comix boxed set just came out? http://www.amazon.com/Complete-Wimmens-Comix-Trina-Robbins/dp/1606998986/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1457316147&sr=1-1&keywords=Wimmens+Comix
  6. OK, my memory is going a bit, I haven't opened the set and looked at it since I first got it. I went ahead and pulled out the boxes of my sets (one opened and one sealed, both the signed deluxe sets). So it's not separate (the separate item I was thinking of was the signed edition HC book bonus, it contains an additional book not in the regular boxed set, which contains signed plates and was limited to 250 copies, my opened one being #91/250), it's included in Vol. IV, it's in the oversized hard cover book. But there are differences. Seems that they switch the order of a couple of the stories for one, but in the soft cover they included several new pages. Here's an interesting story. I preordered the deluxe signed set from Fantagraphics directly and one set from Amazon and received both of them in the mail. A few weeks later I get another deluxe signed set in the mail. I'm wondering where this one came from? I contact Patrick Rosenkranz and ask maybe he had them send me one for some reason, since he helped put it together? He tells me no. I read that Charles Plymell wasn't included on the list of contributors that got a complimentary copy and thought that's kind of screwed up because without him and Don Donahue, who's already passed away (and ever Bob Branaman who introduced the two to each other), there would have never been a Zap Comix. So I anonymously sent one of the sealed sets to Plymell (they sent me a thank you gift to the return address with my name, so I guess they figured it out). Then I get an e-mail from Fantagraphics stating they accidentally sent me two of the sets and that they wanted me to send one of the sets back to them. I explained that I had shipped it as a gift to Charles Plymell, and I no longer had one of the sets. Now you can hate me for getting three of the sets for the price of two. That doesn't happen every day, especially with something that cost that much. Here's a pic. of the soft cover (smaller) on the left next to the pages of the larger HC edition on the right.
  7. Yes, I read they included something additional in the recent separate softcover release that just came out, I believe it was something like a S. Clay Wilson centerfold. So I guess it's a 2nd print. Wasn't the one in the box set (my boxed sets are under several other boxes at the moment) a hard cover? I can't recall, but think so.
  8. Joseph Gordon-Levitt announced on his facebook page this morning that he's pulling out of the Sandman movie. "RE: SANDMAN So, as you might know if you like to follow these sorts of things, a while back, David Goyer and I made a producing deal with Warner Brothers to develop a movie adaptation of Neil Gaiman's SANDMAN. Neil himself came on as an executive producer, we hired the excellent screenwriter, Jack Thorne, and we started in on the ambitious task of adapting one of the most beloved and boundary-pushing titles in the world of comics. I was pleased with the progress we were making, even though we still had quite a ways to go. Recently, as you also might know if you like to follow these sorts of things, the sorta "ownership" (for lack of a better term) of the Sandman material changed hands when Warner Brothers shifted the entire catalogue of Vertigo comics (an imprint of DC) to their subsidiary, New Line. And a few months ago, I came to realize that the folks at New Line and I just don't see eye to eye on what makes Sandman special, and what a film adaptation could/should be. So unfortunately, I decided to remove myself from the project. I wish nothing but the best for the team moving forward. I'd like to thank all the great people I've had the opportunity to work with on this one. I've had a blast with and learned a ton from David and Jack. Niija Kuykendall, Greg Silverman, and everyone at Warner Brothers have been fantastic, as have Geoff Johns and everyone at DC. And it's been a particular privilege as well as a rocking good time getting to know Mr. Gaiman, whose generous insights and masterful work have certainly convinced me that the Lord of Dreams and the Prince of Stories are one and the same Endless pattern."
  9. Anyone pick up the post card set last month? https://pulllist.comixology.com/sku/NOV158464/Miracleman-Silver-Age-Postcards-bundle-of-100-
  10. I read that Miracleman The Silver Age #1 was supposed to be released today and #2 in two weeks and #3 in April (where it switches to a monthly release). In case anyone doesn't know, #3 is the unreleased last issue that's finally coming out after all these decades. Went by the LCS and they said it looks like it's been delayed until April, but I can't find any announcement of this. It was even advertised in last weeks Spiderman #1 as such. Anyone have any info. on the update? Marvel's site still shows these dates.
  11. Funny, someone just pointed out that I started a Facebook group "Underground Comix" which I had forgotten, now almost 2,000 members later. What's your handle Arnie? I don't think we're "friends".
  12. Cameron Forsley's new Tat Rat #7 is out, it's gone from mini comix to full sized.
  13. Post a link, I don't know which Facebook page you're referring to as there are multiples. Arnie, do you mean this one? The one you've been posting your sweet art in? Underground Comix Group on FB Guy, any other UG pertinent FB groups that aren't public that I should be aware of? Sorry, forgot about responding to this question. I'm not sure which are pertinent, but if you search for Underground Comix there are several groups that show up.
  14. That's one I still have yet to see myself. The movie The Diary of a Teenage Girl has a scene of the main character wearing a Mickey Rat T-shirt. There's also a scene in a comic book shop where all the comics in the shop (on the walls, shelves, and in the front of the boxes) are only Underground Comix, my kind of comix shop.
  15. Secrets of War (2014, Dutch) "During the Occupation of The Netherlands (1940-1945) two boys find an American comic book, presumably left by a downed American pilot. This comic book, a dangerous item in those days, reappears in scenes that follow, until one of the boys' mother confiscates and burns it. The magazine that ends up in the stove is a 1952 reprint, which follows from the cover design (Classics Illustrated instead of Classic Comics) and the cover price (15c instead of the regular '40's price of 10c)."
  16. How about a high grade FB #1 (1st print) for $87. I had a low ball snipe on this one for $87 and change, so it wasn't enough to trigger. http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Fabulous-Furry-Freak-Brothers-1-1St-Print-Original-Shelton-Underground-/181980581432?hash=item2a5ee34e38%3Ag%3Azs4AAOSwCQNWetZO&nma=true&si=SkapQI3JdvpQ64wvOAPgdG9oR%252FA%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  17. Been keeping an eye out for a copy to compare it with the tabloid regular version I picked up (that isn't listed in any of the price guides). There was one on eBay a year or two ago that I lost out on. I've been in no rush, just wanted to find one to add to the collection and see what's different between them. Post a link to your books for sale so we can keep watch. I'd heard of this, but didn't realize until just now reading more about it, that Craig Yoe was involved. What are the interiors like? I asked him about the different versions and he didn't have much recollection on this item other than it was him.
  18. Still looking for Peanus, eh? Well if you recall I found mine in the kids section of a thrift store. Sure, lightning striking twice is unlikely, but still possible. People sorting things tend not to pay attention to the fact that while it looks like the real C. Brown and Co., it's not. Therefore look where you don't expect to find it. I'm proof that it's the sort of thing that does occur. I check every few months for a copy, but you're the only one that I know that has one of the books and I have the only set of 6 of the mini-comix that I've seen. Then I happened to check and see that one one of the books was on eBay won 6 months ago. Neither the mini-comix #1-6 or the book are listed in any of the guides.
  19. Post a link, I don't know which Facebook page you're referring to as there are multiples.

  21. This is a must for anyone interested in Undergrounds, an excellent history of the medium chock full of images ( including plenty of rare stuff). It will broaden any new fan's scope of interest. Awesome thank you Forgot to mention that the softcover is the new updated edition, it's got a red and blue cover.
  22. I'm looking for a couple comix and thought I'd post them here in the chance someone has one for sale. Jesus Loves You Classex Comix Peanus #1 (saw that there was one on eBay six months ago that I missed). http://www.ebay.com/itm/CLASSEX-COMIX-PEANUS-1-MAGAZINE-AN-ADULT-SEX-MAGAZINE-PARODY-ON-PEANUTS-GANG-/381281671186?nma=true&si=G1kZn%252BHZGGuIotEzBISDWuKvfo8%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  23. COMIX reprint guide Use the A-Z "keypad" on that page to find the books you are looking for. As far as the page not being updated, most of the information there is still accurate other than recent discoveries made by collectors like 50 Cent here, who has done a lot of great research on undergrounds. Thanks. Also, Mark Rainey's SirReal's site is another source.
  24. Note that there's 3 available. The 1st edition (with a regular or limited cover), a supplement, and the 2nd edition (with a regular and limited cover). All 3 have excellent info. and articles besides the price info. so they all are worth picking up even if the price info. in the 1st edition and supplement are outdated. The three issues that have new info. that I can recall are Zap Comix #2, Big #1, and Freak Brothers #2 that haven't been update on ugcomix.info.
