  1. Daniel Bruhl (Zemo) is in it. He was fantastic in Rush.
  2. While not a main Underground Comix member, his comics were self published and dealt with non-traditional topics and were very controversial so I post that Jack Chick passed away yesterday. https://newrepublic.com/minutes/138109/marriage-att-time-warner-threatens-internet-freedom
  3. Missed it by that much! (Or by about 3 minutes)
  4. I've seen these show up separately occasionally on eBay, but I don't recall them together in a set. Is this a full set? Seems like a good buy to me. I bought a set and see he's listed it again so he's got more than one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Fabulous-Furry-Freak-Brothers-Money-/142140685828?hash=item21183ebe04:g:sbAAAOSwiO9XiTdy
  5. Was the Weird Tales of the Ramones' comic that came with one of their sets mentioned? (Also, did I just see that there's a Archie meets the Ramones coming out soon?)
  6. Was just reminded regarding Comix related with music question that didn't Raw #4 come with a flexidisc? Was that mentioned? (Also, not UG related, but didn't Steve Rude's Nexus #3 of the original series also come with a flexidisc?)
  7. Charles Burns' new book Last Look came out today. Saw a LCS near that is selling it for 30% off the $30 price so I was considering going to buy it tomorrow when I came across this deal too good to pass up. A signed and numbered (limited to 200) with a bookplate for $40 (+$10 S/h). http://cbldf.myshopify.com/products/last-look-gn-signed-by-charles-burns
  8. There's a Skip Williams? Do you mean Williamson? If I'm wrong where would I find material by this other Skip? Oopsy. Skip Williams, Robert Williamson, Skip Williamson, Robert Williams.
  9. Regarding Skip Williamson, here's a post from his wife/girl friend posted today. "Dear Skip's friends, Skip hasn't posted in a while because he's recovering from heart failure. He's been home for a week now after having been hospitalized for nearly a week due to that fact. I apologize wholeheartedly for not having told you all sooner; please forgive my tendency to withdraw when I'm emotionally wounded. Seeing my love in such frail condition isn't easy, but I'm doing everything in my power to bring him through the road of recovery so that he can be himself again. Please keep the positive vibes going for us <3 !! Love and Hugs, Adrienne."
  10. Roger May died?! I had no idea. Yes, last year of cancer. Here's his facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/roger.may.3D?fref=nf You can find several of his hard to find mini comix collected in the book Newave!
  11. ROGER MAY (RIP, boy did he dislike Fogel regarding some past deal he didn't get paid on) would just print some more of all of his minis when he needed them. No record of which printing is which. I would suspect anything by him might be a later copy and not original without proof and I doubt there is any.
  12. I've never pulled my copy of the record out of it's sleeve. No idea what's on that record. I picked up a few nice condition copies of this in the past week, though!!! All Stars 2: nice and a little strange at the same time isn't it? There's nothing quite like it. It was one of the first items, I had purchased when I first began collecting. When it arrived, I did not expect its large format or its multi-color, collective format. To me, it's near the top of the list of affordable UG keys, because it represents the gender so well. It's so different from expectation. I remember reading a thread in one the older forums, where a member wanted to confirm with others, if they had purchased the correct item. That person might of thought they had mispurchased the All Stars 1 fanzine, instead of All Stars 2. I can understand why, someone may have had their doubts. Having known the publisher fairly well over the years, All Stars #2 just seemed like Gary's brain exploded and he was able to harness the fallout in 'fanzine/UG' form. It's so stream of consciousness that it really should be in a class by itself! All-Stars #2 is one of my favorite covers. I recall once posting a pic. of the cover on these forums and getting told it had to be censored. So when I saw Eggs post one for sale, I let him know that he would probably get told to censor it. Seems they've gotten a little less conservative here after Eggs started selling many Undergrounds here. A guy who would know all about Comix with record or music related would be "bookchuck" Steve W. from AZ, but I don't think he posts anymore. Regarding music, did someone already mention Grunt?
  13. Nobody's figured out the printings on this one. It was one I used to keep out an eye for new cover pics to try to figure out, but there are many variants. Is Sir Real's site down? He had a variant posted that's different than the couple I've got. I saw those your threads about the origins of MM and FB1 (by coincidence a little higher in Felix's posts), where you were gunning to nail down the first printings of those publications. Care to give a little summary on where you stand on those stand to date? PS hi Felix, keep'em coming. I've got no idea on Dr. Atomic's Marijuana Multiplier, I just noticed there were many printings not noted so I was trying to collect cover images to compare (obviously it appears different people made new printings, probably from a copy), it never went further than that. As for FB#1, as posted somewhere in the Underground Comix thread in the Mag. section, always keep an eye out for a FB#1 1st print that has black smudges on the cover around the cops/near the stairwell. I've only seen 2 or 3 of them since I've become aware of them. According to the printer, Moriaty, it was the first run of the first printing. As for the rest of the print run, in one of the old forums there was a rather long thread about each FB issue and there were multiple scans in #1 that weren't noted in the guides. Many had different color differences on the back cover, some with the same price on the cover. I believe the thread was saved, but many of the scans were missing making it only partially helpful. EDIT: Found the saved old forum. Here's the FB #1 thread: https://headcomix.info/forum/index.php/topic,449.0.html The FB #2 thread: https://headcomix.info/forum/index.php/topic,457.0.html Here's the thread (or one of them) showing the different back covers of the Fat Freddy's Cat.: https://headcomix.info/forum/index.php/topic,254.0.html The Big #1 thread: https://headcomix.info/forum/index.php/topic,636.0.html The DAMM thread (notice my copy has no cover price): https://headcomix.info/forum/index.php/topic,653.0.html
  14. S. Clay Wilson did The Saga of Yukon Pete https://www.discogs.com/Son-Of-Pete-The-Muffdivers-Saga-Of-Yukon-Pete/release/3031803
  15. Really impressive collection, anyone know who Sack is? Wasn't there someone on the old forums called "Lines on Paper"?
  16. Nobody's figured out the printings on this one. It was one I used to keep out an eye for new cover pics to try to figure out, but there are many variants. Is Sir Real's site down? He had a variant posted that's different than the couple I've got.
  17. If I recall correctly, it's unknown which one is a 1st or a 3rd, but there is a difference in the cover paper thickness between the two. Frequently the earlier stuff had thicker paper and they would use the cheaper paper later on (as the demand for paper grew), but that's not confirmed for this. At least, you can check for the difference in cover paper to see if you've got both printings.
  18. looked it up online as I watched the trailer and it looked familiar, painting is entitled "Sugar Shack" by Ernie Barnes. I recognized it from watching "Good Times" back in the day. It does look something like Colwell's work, however.
  19. Saw a trailer today for the new Obama movie. There's a scene of them in a gallery. The art of people dancing, on the wall looks like Guy Colwell. Anyone else see it and recognize the art also?
  20. Most are pretty pricey so I haven't grabbed much. Found a Moscow Duck for cheap and finally obtained a really beat up copy of Print Project Amerika. That's about it.
  21. So, you're saying you've seen the entire movie? Otherwise, no way to tell that from a 2 minute trailer. I am more interested in this than the abomination (to me) that was Force Awakens. Me too. I want an original story without them blowing up another Death Star. Isn't this a prequel to Star Wars and explains how the Rebels got the plans used to destroy the Death Star in the original movie?
  22. Seems it might be a good time to get into Undergrounds if you've got money. There seems to be an abnormally large amount of sellers lately on eBay with rare, hard to find comix listed. Anyone else notice this?
  23. Picked up issue 7 today, cover advertises Corben art inside, disappointed it's just one piece on the inside front cover.
  24. So is that android an early C3PO and that's how they'll explain why he didn't say he knew Luke and Leia were related (one of the big plot holes of the first 2 triologies)?
