  1. The color break is in the same spot on both the front and back cover. Almost looks like something was used to grab it, no idea what that might be.
  2. So on the advice of some helpful boardies I got the Overstreet grading guide and I've been practicing. I'm trying to get this grading thing down, wanted to ask if you folks could take a look at this and see if what I think the grade is jives with what you do. Everything is firmly attached, pages are white. Hope no one minds if I ask a few questions after.
  3. House of Secrets 101 111 116 117 118 VG to Fine lot for $25 I'll take at 20% off
  4. As of today I'll have sent in 3 cards. 1 to be graded for sale 1 to get graded and encapsulated for me to keep as a nostalgic item 1 that is the same as above, but for my wife. The 2 we are grading to keep are not worth a whole lot, in fact, in the case of my wife's it's not worth almost anything. But they mean something to us, and we can do whatever the hell we want.
  5. Since it's a mislabel at best, complete lie at worst, wonder if you could report them to Ebay for fraudulent practices. I guess it wouldn't matter much dude's profile is a 7 rating so far.
  6. Thankfully some of those boxes I crammed together are exactly that, so I'm not too concerned for those.
  7. So around 225'ish if all of them are bagged and boarded? Assuming just standard thickness?
  8. Then do that. That way you don't have to complain here.
  9. So is there a general consensus on the right number of books for a long box? Enough that they hold each other up well, keep everything sort of pressed together, but not too many to where they crinkle or bend one another? When I was ya kid I packed them in, I didn't know any better. A LOT of my older books are in bags that are crinkled and wavy, etc... I haven't taken them out one by one to see what shape they're in yet, though that is coming soon, so I just wonder, when someone says they have a long box. How many books are we usually talking about?
  10. Going to get to a freezing 70 degrees tonight here.
  11. I sent in 19. 10 in one mailer, 9 in the other, both in the same big box I got from CGC. All I did was submit all 19 in one go online and print the same packing slip twice. I didn't try to do anything special, just put one in with each group/bunch in case they needed it there.
  12. I appreciate the answers. Grading guide is on its way now.
  13. I used 2 of the mailers in my first large shipping kit as well. I sent a packing slip in with each one. I don't actually know if you "need" to do that, but I did anyway just in case. The only thing I can tell you is that it didn't seem to delay anything, I'm not sure if it sped anything up, but it didn't slow them down as far as I can tell.
  14. Sweet, thanks. Last question then, does it matter what edition of the book?
  15. Not sure if I should post this here, or the newbie board. Sorry if it's the wrong place. Are there good videos/guides out there to get someone started on being a good grader? I mean, I've been collecting comics for a long time. I know if something is nice or not, but the specifics of fine tuned grading? No idea. I couldn't tell you the difference between a 4.0 and a 5.0, etc... I have spent time reading the "can you spare a grade" forum and threads, trying to get some ideas. But, and I know in some ways it is, it all seems so arbitrary. So, just wondering if there's a real good, semi-official (or actual official), guide out there on what to look for that people have used, or still do use.
  16. I don't think I knew I liked Capt Marvel (Shazam. version) so much until today. but...
