  1. So on MCS all I see are options to consign or sell outright to them. I'm sure it's staring me in the face, but how do you get in touch with them about getting in on an auction? Is it literally calling them, or am I just missing the button to take me there online?
  2. That looks like the Newton Ring effect. You can read about it here. If it's bad enough you can send it back in to be re-slabbed:

Just bought 5 of the 1940's Eisner Spirit weeklies from Ed. They were exactly as advertised, well priced, and packed immaculately, thanks!
  4. Bought one book from Jay. Quick, easy and painless. Thanks, man!
  5. That shelving I posted has a capacity of 2000 pounds per shelf. I mean, if you're going to pile 5 or 6 long boxes on it, per shelf, I think that's a pretty good weight limit to have. I have some of those wire frame shelves in my garage, they hold like 400 pounds per shelf. They work great for that and hold all the water/toilet paper/paper towels I could ever need, but I think something super sturdy like this is the only way to go to pile books and stuff on.
  6. Yea, I don't have access to that store either. But I like the look nonetheless. Gives me an idea what to go look for at someplace like Lowe's or Home Depot.
  7. There's a thread in Comics general about people showing their comic room's. One person had some shelves in there and when I asked about it, said they were these: https://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/shelves-shelving-units/steel-component-shelving/xtreme-garage-reg-53w-x-72h-x-30d-3-shelf-rack/1994061/p-1444422422055-c-9540.htm
  8. Great communication and a great book. Thanks for everything!
  9. That's a valid complaint for sure. Not sure how stringent CGC is about upping tiers if they think it's necessary or not. I think a lot of it is really about you and your risk tolerance.
  10. So 2 things. 1) I'm not sure an ASM 300 is going to be worth 3k a piece unless you think that both are 9.8+? 2) Yes that's the cost of doing this for very high value comics. The good news is that because of the comic value and those tiers, you'll have them graded and back pretty quickly. As opposed to waiting for 6 months or so like we do for most of the comics. It really boils down to your ability to grade the high value stuff. At lower tiers it doesn't matter as much, but once you start getting to those sorts of issues, you need to be able to determine value.
  11. For sure. But then, if it's a valuable comic and it gets graded at a 9.8 or something, you could lose a lot of money if there's a problem.
  12. So what you declare is what they will insure it for when they mail it back Yes, it's more expensive, but if you don't declare enough (and, btw, you want to declare what you think it will be worth AFTER grading) you could lose a whole lot of money if something happens in the mail. Because of that, as Renegade said, CGC will bump it if you declare way too low anyway.
  13. The 4k is just a number, btw, that'll be up to you to decide based on what you think the value will be.
  14. Weird, so I went in and tried it, had no issues. Did you make sure to get the Declared value in there?
  15. You will get a packing slip once you finish your entire order online and submit it. An email will be sent with the packing slip attached. So, the real issue is that you can't get them submitted online correctly. What does your screen look like?
