  1. He makes some great points. Assuming his theory of sports card money being the primary force driving up comic prices is correct, I don't see a crash coming. It would take almost all that same new money wanting to bail at the same time and undercutting each other for it to crash. Otherwise if only some bail, the other new money will buy it up at the selloff rates and the market will remain largely the same. His comparison to population numbers follows logic too, especially his point at the end about the ones that will forever remain in PC's no matter what the price is. The comic world definitely seems to have more nostalgia and sentimental value attached to their collections. How many NM 98 9.8s are actually available right now? Maybe 10% of the census? When someone could sell their Jordan rookie and buy 20+ of them, it doesn't take very many of those happening to drastically impact the market. I think new money wins the battle and stays a dominant force in the market.
  2. This is up on FB marketplace, if you message him he will send spreadsheets of all the issues but the main pic has quite a bit in it! He is taking offers until April 30th. No finders fee required but would gladly be accepted 😁
  3. I had this happen on a nice dark horse star wars lot about a month ago, I agreed on the price and even sent him 100 down on paypal, he wanted to wait for the full payment until he saw what the shipping total was as it was 2 short boxes. Within a few hours he sent my paypal money back. Said he got an offer he couldn't refuse and wouldn't even let me counter.
  4. Recently noticed a difference on a couple of ASM #361s, theres a white patch on some issues on the lower right front cover, at first I thought it was a chip on an issue I bought. Then I was looking at another issue without it and asked about trimming and restoration, they swear it hasn't had any. I looked up some slab pics and some are stabbed blue labels without the white patch and with it... so what's the deal??
  5. I bought my first original cover today. I was researching some Cerebus stuff not too long ago and came across the Nucleus #1 issue and I really liked the cover. I found out the artist was from Michigan and still here and had a website so I reached out and all I can say is WOW! I am hooked. Bill Bryan, Bill Bryan Art , was so kind and generous and gave me way more than I expected! He gave me everything you see below after we reached a deal on the cover for Nucleus #1, he said he was going to add a couple freebies but this was way beyond that and this is only about half of what he gave me. I had to ask twice to make sure he didnt typo the price, check this guy out!
  6. I found this at a used bookstore and I've seen some talk about rare newsstand sticker variants, do I have anything here?
  7. Hi, I sent in a submission a few days ago, it's not delivered yet but I noticed your prices increased. My submission has invoices printed out in it with the old pricing (18 + 9) modern + fast track, will I be charged that price or the new price of (20 + 10) when it is received? Thanks!
  8. I bet it's a cracked 7.0 listed as NM.
  9. The top left image of Duke isn't there on the Tales of GI Joe #14 reprint, but it's there on the original run. Anyone know why it was dropped from just this1 issue?
  10. Dont look at the watch too much, it really starts to mess with you.
  11. Oooh look at that rare error!! What a deal!
  12. If I didnt know better I'd say Joss has an account on these forums... Glad to see he is being held accountable for these years of accusations and confirmations from people directly involved.
  13. When did people start thinking they had a right to not be offended? Freedom breeds offense.
  14. This was just posted on FB marketplace. See you there!
  15. When they are yelling about Dr. Seuss books but these are the lyrics to the song of the year which is celebrated... something is wrong.
  16. My understanding of the "truth in advertising" standard from the FTC is it can't be an outright lie or even deceptive or misleading. If they don't consider that practice to be misleading, maybe they need to re-examine their policies and how much money is in the comic/collectibles market and how that market is manipulated and influenced by these "print runs". Does anyone know if they addressed this at any point in the past?
  17. I guess I'm an outlier that thinks a high grade mega key from a 3k print run is a better investment than a copy that is also a mega key but has many more copies than 3k out there. Spider man movies aren't going to make AF 15 spike anymore than it already is, it is on a steady uphill climb. A successful turtles reboot would make TMNT 1 skyrocket. There isn't a successful turtles movie franchise and yet the book remains solid. For straight investment, TMNT 1 seems the easy choice to me. If it's a sentimental choice, well then that's a sentimental choice.
  18. Wouldn't publicly lying about a print run in an advertisement open a company up to FTC fines and penalties?
  19. One thing this release method has guaranteed is you won't ever be finding a first print in the wild. They will only be available if you seek them out and pay a premium.
