  1. Agreed 1.8. Don't recycle! Well, not unless you did it by selling to another collector.
  2. If it's slabbed it will be one of the best looking 3.5/4/4.5 ever.
  3. Haha! A thread that pays homage to the people who turned grade 9+ books to sub-4 books. (Yes, and my friends and I were also those people)
  4. There ARE so many great Howard stories, but the main reason they won't use them is that is not how Hollywood works. Movies get made to a template; they are rarely faithful to the original story. So all these movies, it doesn't matter what powers the character has or how he acts, they always end up the same way with pyrotechnics and the two main protagonists having a punch-up. A case in point wsa the Solomon Kane movie. They had a great opportunity there to do something really different: a puritan! but a swashbuckler! And it just ended up it could have been about anyone.
  5. I don't think there are many people who WOULD have trouble spending on something fun.
  6. For me its: Hulk 1 JIM 83 These are really too expensive for me to justify spending so much money on. I still hope I can get ASM 1 one day...
  7. I wonder if the buyer bought it to "recycle" that cover.
  8. I would say 6.5 without the marker scribble.
  9. would have given the front cover 3.5. I guess they took off 0.5 for the damaged BC
  10. I finally got this one, courtesy of Nic8612. (He took the photo too) This is actually the first slabbed book that I have got.
  11. Foxing is caused by fungi and can be removed. This is usually done for high value items such as artworks. But does anyone know - would CGC give a purple label to a book that had its foxing removed? @The Lions Den?
  12. What do the graders' notes say? Was there any internal problem? Otherwise they must have hammered if for that Marvel chipping.
  13. I would give this a 5 but I would be interested in if others would score more harshly the rubbing that has worn the green colour in the top left corner.
  14. 5.5 That crease in top right brings it down below the fine range, unfortunately.
