  1. "Marvel Boy tries to save the earth". They didn't use hard sell back in 1950 did they?
  2. It still presents nicely for a sub-G copy.
  3. 3.0 The stain does not go "through" to the BC. It looks like it goes around. It's still an awful stain, though.
  4. And what grading is involved anyway? CGC looks at it and says, "Yep, it's a page alright - slab it up!"
  5. What's this about? People who have a low quality copy of this reprint book, take it apart and sell pages individually? If I did this, I could turn a tidy profit on the books I bought for 25c, but could not condone such vandalism.
  6. Tried to justify 3.0, but also came down to 2.5
  7. I agree about photo quality... from what I can see of the FC I would rate this 4.5 to 5.0. I do not care so much about BC defects - and don't understand people who admire the ad pages.
  8. Maybe they liked getting a sneaky look inside due to the cover's semi-transparency.
  9. Not that uncharted. After the GFC, the US engaged in "quantitative easing" reducing the value of the US$. It was a different sort of crisis but I suspect that did not have the same effect on prices of comics as we are seeing now.
  10. No, Not enough Cyclopses ... Cyclopi ... Cyclopae... Scott Summerses ... those guys!
  11. Very tempting. I am looking for FF2 to complete my FF collection, but I don't like those semi- transparent covers, so better let that go through to the 'keeper. (As they say in the land of pence variants).
  12. I don't know how the tear affects th egrade but since no-one else has weighed in, I will say 5.0 for this one.
  13. Thanks for posting. Good to know that those minor color breaks are acceptable for a 9.2 grade.
  14. Regarding the high prices lately... with the insane contracts being awarded to sports stars, you only need a few of them to continue their interest in comics and they would be able to easily afford these very high prices for keys. At a more modest level, the same could be true for people working for high-paying tech companies... there is an ebayer in the Bay area that has displays of a lot of high end books.
  15. 6.5 It's hard to tell from the photo - what is this defect:
