  1. forgive my ignorance but what is A_T_C? Is the RHS of FC trimmed too? As is I would give it 4.5
  2. Haha! "Tell him he's dreaming!" If you haven't already seen it, watch the '90s Australian movie called "The Castle". It has a lot of endearing Aussie humour, that line from which was in relation to someone wanting too high a price for an advertised item.
  3. Glad you know about him - I hadn't. Here is another rare one. It's not as rare as the Trash Comix - this one has a massive 4 google entries (though 2 are @ comicvine). One is to a sale last year of a copy with asking price $400(!).
  4. Thank you! I am glad this is of interest. So more details: I bought it new back in 1979 and forgot about it till repacking my collection into boxes recently. When I saw this again and tried to open it as usual, I was surprised to see that it unfolded instead. So it was printed on a large sheet that then was folded to ~11.5" x 8". There was no insert. Further information: "The Collected Trash Comix Tabloid" First Printing. Vol 1 #1 "copyright I. Eddy 1979" "Printed by Newsprinters Ltd Sheparaton" (sic) I think there is another spelling mistake there ;-)
  5. The first comic I read was FF#39 when I was about 7. Weirdly, someone had dropped it near our front yard (we lived in a semi-rural area then) so it was like manna from heaven. The first I bought with my own shilling was DD11 so that one is the foundation of my collection. And yes Marvel comics back then did provide refuge from some tough times.
  6. Just found this thread so thought I would contribute this... (which I also added to the underground thread in the magazine forum). It definitely counts as "rare" and "unknown". I could not find any reference to it by Google. MCS has a lot of obscure listings but not for this one. It was printed on one sheet of paper then folded over. Spelling was not their forte.
  7. I had the complete run of DD but stopped at around #135 - I thought it was getting too banal. Most of the superhero books were really in a rut in the mid-70s.
  8. I also think 7, and CGC must have downgraded it for that chipping. If there are interior problems that caused the lower grade, you are never going to see them while it's in the slab are you?
  9. Is that a crease on LR FC? 7.5 Did the Glob ever meet Man-Thing?
  10. Keep B. 6.0 And you escaped the wrath of the rule sticklers. So far at least...
  11. They really hammered the grade over that back cover. Looks much better than a 7.0. It also looks like your LCS did not do a great job with the press.
  12. 5.5 Agree with @WilliamLunt's nice remark about "overperforming 5.5/underperforming 6.0"
  13. Agree with 4. Interesting the price went up by a whole penny between #13 and #15.
