  1. 6.5 to 7.0 on the FC; no interiors shots provided. To OP: you should show close ups of corners, splash page and centrefold, as per recommendations for this thread.
  2. As you said, surely it would not have been graded that highly if it had been presented raw while having this translucency. The "uncomfortable issue" is that the MCP or whatever CGC does in slabbing them contributes to, if not causes, this translucency. I have not seen this on any of my thousands of raw books, and certainly not in any BA issues, but have seen it now on a number of highly graded slabbed books.
  3. 6 but took points off because the pics are so tiny. ;-)
  4. haha... But compare yours to some that Buddy2 has got back recently graded as 5.5. I think it compares favourably. I graded his at that level before seeing their score.
  5. Not out of the question for me... 6.5 to 7 Nice pick-up!
  6. I don't think I would be paying $52,000+ for a book whose cover looks like it is becoming transparent.
  7. Agree 3.5 Sad that EC's campaign comparing Wertham to Communism didn't save them.
  8. Thinking about that white splotch - could it be a paper manufacturing defect? It looks like a bit of white plastic was incorporated into the paper. Being plastic it would not have taken ink. I don't think it is caused by bleach or other chemicals, because like I said above it goes through the front cover. But (from what we can see) it does not affect the splash page.
  9. 5 (so far grading in this thread looks like an auction)
  10. I don't grade as harsh as others... 5.0
  11. Whatever did that white splotch did it on the "V" and also all the way through the cover. Apart from that I would say 5
  12. Thanks for posting the after-press photo. Did this get a "clean" as well as a press?
  13. That's in great condition for its age. Are those reflections or wear on the FC? Depending on that, 7.0 to 8
