I’m in my late 40’s and I recently brought a bunch of my childhood books to GalaxyCon in Raleigh to be signed by Jim Shooter. He was awesome - talked to me for 20 minutes and told me a bunch of stories about working for Marvel and signing with Stan. He was pretty surprised that these were from my original collection and he seemed kinda excited about it. I just got the books back and I have to say I’m really happy with my teenage self. My preservation led to fairly high grades and white pages for all of them. The rep at the show forgot to check pressing and I didn’t notice until it was too late, but the grader notes for all of the 8.5’s are pressable defects. Funny thing is that all i did was bag and board and put in a long box and wrap it with many layers of plastic wrap (for moving). I brought these books through 10+ moves over 30 years. Overall I’m happy with my 10-15 year old self! And gotta love Shooter’s sig placement.

My JR JR remarque moved from Received at CCS (where it was since they received it in August) to Scheduled for Grading today. JR/JR Hanna Signing must have have happened last week.

Thanks for posting. My two are still showing up as Received at CCS which is where it’s been since it got there in August but now I know it’ll move!

I appreciate all of the replies, thank you. It is most definitely not a prelim, so thanks for that correction. To me it actually looks like the panel I bought was made afterward because of all the black notations in the bottom 2/3 of the panel, almost like to indicate it was only the top panel that was being replaced. And yes, what I posted was exactly how it was labeled on the website when it was for auction - no other information. Unfortunately I contacted Comic Link and they've decided to ignore me on this matter. I sent an initial email with my question about published vs. unpublished and they quickly replied with another image file of a page from another X-men book that was nothing like the one I bought, claiming it was the published version of what I purchased. I wrote them back and said they were mistaken and that was the last I heard, which was on Tuesday (they guarantee 24 hour responses to all emails). I've called once (didn't leave a message) and tried one more email. The deadline to pay is today, so I'll pay and move on. Caveat Emptor! Shame on me and lesson learned.
