  1. If you were to see this piece at auction would you assume it is a published page? Is there an expectation that this be labeled as a preliminary or unpublished piece? I bought this with seconds left on a whim assuming it was published (shame on me - first time I’ve bought a piece without going to see the published page and of course I’m going to pay). It’s only $100 with shipping but I feel a little ripped off that it wasn’t in the listing that it was an unpublished prelim. However if that’s not for Comic Link to reveal then I’m just dead wrong and willing to admit it. Thanks.
  2. Here's my Dave Cockrum signed X-Men 94 with no notation of signature on cover (you bet it's a real Cockrum!)
  3. Nice! That was the CGC response to my question! Also, this was documented recently in a thread where someone spells out exactly what they did to get a blue Universal grade with an unverified signature:
  4. Is this a comic you sent to CGC? If so, then they will re-holder for free. You will need to contact customer service and they will even pay for return shipping. However, if this is a book you bought from someone (say through eBay) you should immediately contact the seller and ask for a refund. You don't know if the book was slipped out or replaced or if any damage occurred since the grading, because whatever cracked that case could have been a violent drop (or it could have been sealed improperly, which is less likely but possible). By no means should you accept the broken slab if it was not clearly stated a part of the transaction.
  5. This is fun! Enjoying the art here. Here are my best three (all within budget and the last 2 years): 1. JR JR Prelim for Wolverine 25 2. Wolverine: Infinity Watch #3 Cover 3. Optimus Prime #20 Cover (Bumblebee - pretty sweet!)
  6. I recently bought a coverless X-men 1 on eBay for almost $1800 to marry to a cover I had. I’ve seen them go for up to $2500. Put it up on eBay for a reasonable price based on the current market and see what happens!
  7. I recently sold a TEC 73 coverless for about 70% FMV of a 0.5. The first wrap is pretty impressive itself so that may have helped, but the draw of the book is the first and only GA Scarecrow cover. Also, a Mystery Men Comics 7 (first Blue Beetle cover and fairly rare) slabbed coverless and missing first wrap has been sitting on eBay for a while but it’s hard to know the FMV of a 0.5 when none exists. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mystery-Men-Comics-7-CGC-NG-Coverless-Incomplete-1488612001-/363411155523?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
  8. I just met Jim Shooter at the NC Galaxy Con last month and he signed a bunch of my childhood books for free. He was psyched that they were my original books and he showed me a bunch of his comics he had that he brings with him. He also told me a story about how him and Stan Lee were signing at a comic con and Stan’s shirt gets caught on the edge of a FF1 he’s signing and he rips the cover right in two! He said Stan shrugged and just kept signing other books! Shooter was laughing while telling that one. It was all very surreal and all I could think of was how incredibly cool he was. I wasn’t going to ask for a pic because I didn’t want to bother him but he suggested it. I wish I could thank him again for how happy he made 46 and 12 year old me!
  9. Thank you! I appreciate your response!
  10. I’m considering purchasing this book and I have a question. The book was signed twice by the same artist but only one was witnessed by CGC, so the other one is considered a defect and therefore the 9.2 qualified grade reflects the grade without that defect. Would it be possible to resubmit this slab to be pressed by CCS and then be re-graded by CGC but with a standard SS label, understanding that the new grade would reflect the unwitnessed signature as if it was just marker on the cover? Bottom line - would I be able to resubmit the slabbed book for an SS label knowing that the book could get a lower grade?
  11. Value books Shipped (never saw it go to QC): 8/6 Value books Delivered: 8/8 All came back in great shape and very happy with the grades! Dare I say worth the wait?
  12. Great information and insight - thanks. Also something that could easily be remedied with Blackstone money.
