  1. That is pretty sickening, esp as this appears to be a 9.4 - 9.6 copy otherwise. How could that have happened ? Yet another reason why it's safer getting a TMNT #1 already graded.
  2. Perfect centering and PQ on that copy, Alan. (thumbs u
  3. yes..it is the Great Joe Bennet !!! Of course ! Thanks. Didn't occur to me he is Brazilian, Joe Bennet = Jose Benedito.
  4. I'm late to this thread, but wonder if anyone owns a copy of this ? It's a compilation comic called "Marvel Mix Editora Mythos #1 (1999)", this is licensed from Marvel and produced in Brazil. The cover is awesome, like a re-mix of Hulk #181 with Spidey and Ghost Rider thrown in. I'd love to know who the cover artist is ? I can make out Joe B......
  5. There's another IM #55 9.8 Suscha News with identical cut, but different serial number, in the next Comic Connect auction.
  6. Anyone see the 9.4 W copy that just sold on Heritage for $5,377 ? It looks like this book may be heating up.
  7. $5317 for the 7.0 (last GPA sale was for $9000 in December 2009) $4350 for the 6.5 (last GPA sale was for $5250 in Jan 2012) Wow, that's a 40% drop in value since 2009. I wonder when prices will start to level off ?
  8. These are actually from another local collection I picked up, except the IM/Subby 1, which was a raw eBay buy! You are officially, "da man".......
  9. Andy, you really found a collection that just keeps on giving.
  10. Steve paid fast for the color guides he bought from me and was great to deal with. (thumbs u
  11. Please leave your glowing feedback right here....
  12. Good for you, really! But it's a box. Am I missing something? And what made you want to put an empty box on eBay? There is no date on the box and researching it was a bit of a challenge, I new the 5 cent price of the poster packs told me it was old so I kept searching, I sent some photos to a baseball card guy who identified it to 1968 by the serial numbers on the bottom. Funny he did not make me an offer so I just listed it. I understand that it is more rareer than the product itself if you read my listing you will get my drift. funny thing is the things I was putting in the box turned out to be pretty good $$$wise. Wow, what a good score. (thumbs u Interesting story though. I never would have even known! This listing just ended, an item in the box pool chalk http://www.ebay.com/itm/260940257343?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649 This Deck of cards went last week http://www.ebay.com/itm/c1900-ANHEUSER-BUSCH-Spanish-American-War-playing-cards-USPC-Advertising-/250969704195?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6ef5c703 Awesome scores (thumbs u You've got a great eye, I would never have thought of taking that empty box.
  13. all of the Bat books I mentioned came from same OO collection, so storage of the books should have been consistent. I personally had most of the books at OW-W, just a few at W. None, I thought, were at CR-OW. It is funny (not ha-ha funny) that of ALL of the books from this one collection (all together I have about 120 or so from same collection), this was the only one that came back CR-OW The storage conditions aren't the only factor to consider. The paper stock can also differ from issue to issue and this particularly seems the case for DC's.
  14. If interested in what? Looking at the book...?
  15. I've just got a Primer 2 CGC 9.6 oww. Please PM me if interested.
  16. This Silver Surfer book from 1995 was limited to a print run of only 742 copies. Anyone know what they sell for ?
  17. I was going to send you a PM about it but you have me on ignore. I'm not even sure why that was, but I've taken you off ignore. TMNT #1 obviously is a tough book in low grade as this copy has already sold. Thanks for the interest though. (thumbs u
  18. Someone in this thread commented that you rarely see TMNT 1 (1st Print) in the lower grades. I'll have a 5.0 OWW coming back from CGC shortly so if anyone's interested please PM me (thumbs u
  19. I've done some searching and may have found out who Kevin Eastman is referring to in the message he wrote in this copy. I found a great interview in Heavy Metal magazine where Kevin talks about his early influences and working in the restaurant part of a variety store when he was starting out as a freshman in Westbrook, Maine. Interview with Kevin Eastman - go to Page 3. The owner would dish out useful advice about life and how to save money by grabbing a snack in the restaurant when he came in on his day off to get his paycheck, "that way it leaves you more money to spend on beer, chicks and your apartment". Louie Audet. I wonder if this could be the Louie that Kevin is referring to ? If so, his "kicks in the butt" could have been one of the early influences in the creation of TMNT by giving a young Kevin Eastman the confidence and work ethic he needed to make things happen.
  20. Dude, is this directed at me ? WTF are you talking about ?
  21. I've recently had an interesting copy of TMNT #1 (1st Print) back from CGC. It graded an 8.0 W PGS with a CGC notation "Kevin B. Eastman and salutation written on interior cover in marker". The interesting thing is the salutation, " "Louie, I never would have made it this far if not for the kicks in the butt when I needed them, and the words of confidence. Thanks for everything ! Best always, Kevin B Eastman." Was there a Louie involved in the original production of TMNT ? Does anyone have any thoughts on the origin of this copy or who Louie might be ?
  22. Yeah ? Well I want a toilet seat made of solid gold......
  23. That deservers one of these and three of these :applause: An awesome achievement and that's definitely one of the greatest run of covers in Marvel history when you see them all lined up. I'm starting to wish I'd bought back my old J.I.M #93 Pacific Coast when I had the chance.
