  1. all of the Bat books I mentioned came from same OO collection, so storage of the books should have been consistent. I personally had most of the books at OW-W, just a few at W. None, I thought, were at CR-OW. It is funny (not ha-ha funny) that of ALL of the books from this one collection (all together I have about 120 or so from same collection), this was the only one that came back CR-OW The storage conditions aren't the only factor to consider. The paper stock can also differ from issue to issue and this particularly seems the case for DC's.
  2. If interested in what? Looking at the book...?
  3. I've just got a Primer 2 CGC 9.6 oww. Please PM me if interested.
  4. This Silver Surfer book from 1995 was limited to a print run of only 742 copies. Anyone know what they sell for ?
  5. I was going to send you a PM about it but you have me on ignore. I'm not even sure why that was, but I've taken you off ignore. TMNT #1 obviously is a tough book in low grade as this copy has already sold. Thanks for the interest though. (thumbs u
  6. Someone in this thread commented that you rarely see TMNT 1 (1st Print) in the lower grades. I'll have a 5.0 OWW coming back from CGC shortly so if anyone's interested please PM me (thumbs u
  7. I've done some searching and may have found out who Kevin Eastman is referring to in the message he wrote in this copy. I found a great interview in Heavy Metal magazine where Kevin talks about his early influences and working in the restaurant part of a variety store when he was starting out as a freshman in Westbrook, Maine. Interview with Kevin Eastman - go to Page 3. The owner would dish out useful advice about life and how to save money by grabbing a snack in the restaurant when he came in on his day off to get his paycheck, "that way it leaves you more money to spend on beer, chicks and your apartment". Louie Audet. I wonder if this could be the Louie that Kevin is referring to ? If so, his "kicks in the butt" could have been one of the early influences in the creation of TMNT by giving a young Kevin Eastman the confidence and work ethic he needed to make things happen.
  8. Dude, is this directed at me ? WTF are you talking about ?
  9. I've recently had an interesting copy of TMNT #1 (1st Print) back from CGC. It graded an 8.0 W PGS with a CGC notation "Kevin B. Eastman and salutation written on interior cover in marker". The interesting thing is the salutation, " "Louie, I never would have made it this far if not for the kicks in the butt when I needed them, and the words of confidence. Thanks for everything ! Best always, Kevin B Eastman." Was there a Louie involved in the original production of TMNT ? Does anyone have any thoughts on the origin of this copy or who Louie might be ?
  10. Yeah ? Well I want a toilet seat made of solid gold......
  11. That deservers one of these and three of these :applause: An awesome achievement and that's definitely one of the greatest run of covers in Marvel history when you see them all lined up. I'm starting to wish I'd bought back my old J.I.M #93 Pacific Coast when I had the chance.
  12. No these are raw copies, so GPA or SS prices aren't so useful.
  13. Anyone know what NM copies of Chew #1 (4th Print) signed by John Layman and Rob Guillary and Wonder Woman #200 signed by Rucka, Johnson & Snyder are worth ?

  15. For sale in a Marketplace forum near you sometime soon.... I'm not a huge fan of Moderns, but War Hulk lays a serious smackdown on Juggernaut in this issue.
  16. This one goes on the want list. Spectacular cover!! Just to keep thing straight, I was hoping some JIM expert would spot the change! Here's my real book undoctored! Nice job. I prefer the variant.
  17. I ask for provenance and you produce this ! Amazing stuff Bob. I can't believe the Thor #134 cost more than the J.I.M. #118 back then. I guess the High Evolutionary used to be someone. Having said that #134 is a tough issue above 9.2, and I would love to see your PC copy. The greytone J.I.M.'s like #115 and #117 show cover discoloration so easily, but that #115 looks amazing.
  18. Great books Bob. I look forward to seeing these each day. I hope you continue through all the Kirby issues also. What happened to the story on where each book was bought from ? I was enjoying the background history almost as much as the books themselves.
  19. Eides had some spectacular J.I.M.s. I remember the #103 CGC 9.4 in particular. It was every inch a 9.6, and that's exactly how it came back when it was re-submitted to CGC. Eides had quite an eye for high grade, even back in the day.
  20. Thanks Bob, but I think it's nice seeing your sequence of books. Along with the background stories, it's giving us an insight into putting together a high grade run on a great title. p.s. the #93 CGC 9.2 is not one of my old books, but it's one of the toughest in the whole run in grade. And the best copies are not "tainted" like some of the nicest #91's and #92's seem to have been by certain allegations. Also, if I remember correctly didn't you buy it raw and submit it yourself ? Which makes it even better in my book.
  21. Great books Bob ! It's good to see Thor finally getting some props. I'm looking forward to seeing your #93 CGC 9.2.
  22. Hi Bangzoom Just wanted to say thanks for sharing these incredible books. I realize it's a pain, and an imposition, but would you mind scanning the Superman #1, Batman #1, and Detective Comics #27 ? I would love seeing your original owner copies of those 3 books close up.
