  1. WOW!!!! That is Beautful Mick and look how sharp that blue looks. (thumbs u Here is a small sample of some Mid grade books that arrived today. [/img] [/img]
  2. A big KUDOS and Thank You to Thirdgreenham for a bulletproof package of awesome books. Always a pleasure dealing with Andy and I hope many more transactions to follow. Awesome strict grading with very nice PQ on every book. (thumbs u An awesome KUDOS and a Big Thank You to The Shadow Knows for a comic I will always treasure. AAMOW 28, the first Sgt Rock prototype that Dennis sent as a gift. What a sweetheart!! (worship) (worship) I love these boards!! Thanks again Gentlemen, (worship) You guys ROCK!!! :headbang: fay :foryou:
  3. Hey Fay, can you scan that War Collector's Program for me to see? Thanks! Andy Andy, I will post them tomorrow and I'm getting ready to go out for dinner right now. I would say later tonight but I might be a little tipsy after a few belts.
  4. These books don't compare to Vince and Greggy's awesome slabs and those sure are Beautiful you guys. I received a package today of BA sweetness and TupennyConan threw in some freebie War Collectors' Programs from some previous SDCC's and they are in awesome shape. Here are the books and I can hardly wait to read this story about my favorite tough guy lost in the Pacific. All four books have Russ Heath inside art.
  5. An awesome KUDOS and a BIG thank you to TupennyConan for a package of sweet books and some War Collectors' annuals from a few SDCCs. You made my day Bill. (thumbs u Also a Kudos I somehow forgot from a couple of months ago for one of my favorite sellers, cd4ever for a Beautiful OAAW book and some freebie Spideys. Thanks again Gentlemen. (worship) fay :foryou:
  6. You were correct Sir. (thumbs u Great story and even better art and I found it very interesting that DC did a story about a real unit and even mentioned their Commanding officer, Claire Chennault. The pilot "Pappy" is also a real pilot, Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington. I read his book and he was a hard charging and hard drinking Marine pilot that flew in the Solomon Islands later in the war and was eventually shot down and spent the balance of the war in a Japanese cell. I often wonder why DC didn't do more stories about real battles and/or real units from WW11. Thanks for the info.
  7. Late to the party. Mr. unbeatable e-bay bidder that has an uncanny knack for finding many of the sweet war books on e-bay. I have to call you on that statement Andy. Nice book October.
  8. OOoooooh. I love questions like these... Speaking strictly Bronze Age DC war, these would be my top five. 1. OAAW #244 - Russ Heath's classic 'Easy's First Tiger'. No brainer. Perhaps the best war story of all time. 2. G.I.Combat #151 - Another Russ Heath Gem, with a story about racism in the military. Incredible - but beware... very tough book to find in grades above FN. 3. Our Army at War #218 - This issue is pure, concentrated goodness. A killer Russ Heath.Bob Kanigher Sgt. Rock story up front, and the first appearance of the USS Stevens in the backup tale, by Sam Glanzman. 4. Weird War Tales #10 - 'Who is Haunting the Haunted Chateau' written by Shelly Mayer, and beautifully drawn by Alex Toth. 5. Star Spangled War Stories #164. Aside from a solid Unknown Soldier story up front, the real gem here is 'White Devil, Yellow Devil' - perhaps the greatest short story in all of DC's War comics. Bob Kanigher's -script is perfectly drawn by Alex Toth. Many readers think Toth and Kanigher's 'Burma Sky' is the best, but I prefer this one. 6. BONUS!!! You've got to like Our Fighting Forces #155 - 'A Small Place in Hell'. Jack Kirby draws the Losers with verve and enthusiasm, making for perhaps the single most action packed war comic in the DC war pantheon. Good books all!! Shep I just finished reading the awesome second story in SSWS 164 and it's well worth reading and admiring Alex Toth's great art work. (thumbs u Thanks for the the information Shep. Which issue is Kanigher and Toth's story "Burma Sky" in? Thank you in advance.
  9. Did it finally get pulled? (thumbs u Technically it may not have broken the rules but clearly that's not how we do it. Hell, I could post a link to my photobucket account.....and there'd be some comics there for sale. And some porn. And boobs. And David Hasselhoff naked. But I digress.... John, I can hardly wait until your next sales thread. Maybe scratch the David Hassbeenhoff and do you have any pics of Clive Owen in the buff. Just kidding and I love your sales threads just the way they are. fay
  10. three DC SA war - two SSWS and one OOAW Issue numbers, grades and prices? Geez, Fay, I'm old - that was like 10 days ago - you expect me to remember that  Sigh..., I'll head to log book, and try to figure it out...., SSWS 149 8.5 SSWS 166 9.4 OAAW 215 8.5 and..., I got them all dirt cheap, which is usually the only way I get slabs. The 166 was a real coup - tough book, with few bidders - all not serious for how serious the book is. How come you're not asking about the Baby Hueys and Stumbos? Those were all 9.2s and 9.4s Baby Huey and Stumbos!! I only need the SSWS 149. You're only as old as you feel. My unca' Howie says you're only as old as the girl you feel..., which makes me..., 47 !!! Which is..., exactly the same age..., as I actually am..., basically, old. If you need my undercopy SSWS 149, you're welcome to it. It was mid grade with a nice appearance. PM me for details. You really need some Baby Hueys to lighten your perspective. I was inventorying last night, and I only have about four issues of Baby Huey and Papa, and guess what - frickin' duplicate at #14 - both copies VF+. What are the odds? 47!!! I shouldn't talk and turning 39 again this year was exhausting. Baby Huey to lighten my perspective. My perspective is already too light. And speaking of light I just bought a few more books and will have to pass on the SSWS 149 until some other payday. Thank you for the offer.

  13. I would agree with Jeffro on the OAAW 244 for sure and you can add OAAW 215 for some great Russ Heath artwork. I think Shep mentioned this issue about ten pages back and I just read my copy again a few days ago and the art work is awesome. I thought a great Unknown Soldier story is in SSWS 160 and many of the Enemy Ace stories on some of the earlier SSWS issues starting at 138 are extremely good. (thumbs u It's hard to pick five certain issues. Good Luck and enjoy.
  14. :applause: :acclaim: A BIG kudos goes out to Thirdgreenham and Lizards2 for some awesome books and I hope one day to return the favor to these fine gentlemen. Thanks again Andy and Mike, (worship) fay :foryou:
  15. You're too kind and I already miss my book, but got an incredible book in exchange. It was a sweet deal. Once again Congrats on your GIC 87 and thank you!! (thumbs u
  16. Good Luck Shep and I'm going to try to join you in slowing right down for a while. I've been spending more time just reading and admiring my books and I've enjoyed every minute of it. These two and a couple of others arrived in the same package today from a fellow war board lover. Love this cover and I hear the book once belonged to the King, Mick. One of the nicest books in my collection that came in a multi book trade/purchase from our good buddy kagemusha7s. (thumbs u Thanks Mike, (worship) I just hope you like your books as much as I've enjoyed these Beauties so far today. You made my day!! :acclaim: HAPPY BIRTHDAY LARRY!!! May your year bring you good Karma. (thumbs u :foryou:
  17. :acclaim: :acclaim: :applause: A BIG Kudos and even bigger Thank You to kagemusha7s for what started out as a simple purchase and after a few PMs turned into a great trade/purchase for the both of us. (thumbs u You gotta love these boards. Thanks again Mike, it was pleasure negotiating with you on a fantastic set of books. I just hope you like yours as much. fay
  18. :acclaim: :acclaim: A gigantic Kudos and an even bigger Thank You to BigFiver69 for the motherload of DC war books. (thumbs u During one of my selling threads our good man Shep bought two DC War Book slabs from me and in the confusion of packaging up all those packages I accidently threw in an extra OAAW Slab he needed. A guy like Shep just wouldn't let my mistake fly and the correction arrived today. The Hobby isn't always just about money. Thanks again Shep, (worship) fay
  19. Thanks for the purchase David and for your patience while the Postal boys read your comics. Thanks again, (worship) fay
  20. You are very welcome Mike!! Always a pleasure dealing with you. (thumbs u
  21. Spelling was never my strongest asset and the Trooper hopefully knows what I meant. Smart-azz Andy.
  22. Trooper you are my idle. IDOL!! :applause:
  23. :applause: Great book Jeffro!! I'm still searching for that DC Special Series # 13 and one came up on e-bay in around VF/NM condition but unfortunately it was "Dodofive" auctioning it and I won't go near either of their sites since they lost my bought and paid for OAAW 244 in NM- condition.
  24. Nice book Wisp and some more awesome slabs Shep. (thumbs u Over the last few days of mail deliveries I've received a bonaza of BA DC goodness. One of my favorite covers. Sneaky Germans get theirs in the end. (thumbs u And one book for Karma or Larry and I knew it would only be a matter of time before I started grabbing a few SGT Furys and I've always liked this cover in honor of our famous Paratrooper. I like how realistic it is with Fury jumping with his cigar in his mouth.
