  1. I hate seeing War comics slip off the first page. I know I forgot to post these few books I got from Shep late last year. Love this one and it has a great Heath story and art. I shouldn't post this until all the payments are made and it's such a relief to finally replace my old Beautiful copy I sold like a dummy. I was even ready to over pay Metropolis for a CGC 8.0 copy one day if they still had it.
  2. Thanks AS! I don't visit the Gold Section of these boards enough and I think it's so cool you guys post the inside of comics. (thumbs u What a strange concept. That's so cool. That was an awesome splash page by Heath.
  3. Outstanding! Thanks for posting! Thank you!! Russ Heath Rocks!!
  4. DC published war comics continuously from 1952 - 1987 and, starting in 1960 or so, centered them around major characters like Sgt Rock, Haunted Tank, Unknown Soldier, Enemy Ace etc. So far as I can tell, that has resulted in a more committed fan base. I think that is very true and another reason could be the difficulty of finding HG Atlas War books and with the DC Big Five, a collector with a nice budget and some patience can find several HG 10 centers. Unfortunately I'm not one of those collectors. Here's most of mine and I would love to find some more in FN+ or better condition. Of course I'm a little partial to Russ Heath. Ooops I need to scan this one.
  5. It's been a little slow in this section and today I received a big batch of HG Beauties from Thirdgreenham. Love this book and I would love to buy back my old CGC 9.4 Oakland copy...hint...hint A bunch more BA OAAW's to be scanned at a later date. Thanks again Andy! (thumbs u
  6. A big package arrived today from Thirdgreenham with 29 books and I've only got a few scans to show off. My first SS book and of course it's Russ Heath. Another Russ Heath classic! I need to replace the mouse on the computer with my scanner hooked up to it and my little cat Wally chewed threw the cord for ignoring him. EDIT: I'm not too bright sometimes and I switched mouses from one computer to the other. Here's a few more scans from that awesome package. Here's an action shot from the computer wire muncher.
  7. That's funny because about four nights ago he moved over to the couch all pizzed off because I was talking in my sleep. Usually it's about my checkered past which can be just as damaging. It's only a matter of time before I start talking about Sgt Rock and packages arriving. Today I told him I only bought six of those books and the balance Andy included as freebies. I'm not sure he bought that one even after I told him the seller is getting out of the hobby. Here's a few more scans and most were HG BA books which in many ways is my favorite era for cool stories. I originally wished I grabbed Andy's SS 7.0 and this one is a Beauty with mostly back cover flaws. Savannah Pedigree.
  8. Sweet Atlas book Richard and are you starting to go after those now too? Didn't you hear Dan say those books aren't very popular right here on these boards about a week ago? That is a Beauty!! Nice grab at the thrift store and what are the odds of finding those two key books. Nice work and great books. I was at the Post Office today to mail Andy his last 150.00 of well hidden cash so it's untraceable to that rotten buggar I live with and the Postie tells me there's a package for me and sure enough it's from our good friend Andy. What an awesome lot of 29 books. I've got some scanning to do and here's a small sample. I should have waited for his SS CGC 7.0 but I still love this one. Thanks again Andy!! I really shouldn't say my Husband is a rotten buggar and he's pretty cool about most of my purchases... or the ones he knows about.
  9. I've lost count how many awesome transactions I've had with Andy both buying and selling and they have all been flawless. He lets me make some time payments with well hidden cash so it's not traceable to my better half. I was at the Post Office today to mail him his last 150.00 on a 800.00 batch of books and the Postie tells me she has a package for me and sure enough it was from Andy. What an incredible packaging job of strictly graded books and he's easily one of my favorite sellers on these boards. (thumbs u You along with many others make these boards a better place. Thanks again Andy for all the great books and the fantastic prices. fay
  10. I've purchased some books from Collin a few times and each time was better than the last and he's a great seller and a great person. Strict grading of a Spidey 50 7.0 and sure enough it came back from CGC exactly as advertised. (thumbs u Like a dummy I had sold the darn book and I've always regretted that. I would highly recommend Collin as a seller or a buyer on these boards! (thumbs u Thanks again, fay
  11. .....nice seeing you in this neck of the woods again, Fazy.....You've got my curiousity now....we all know what your # 1 focus is, and with Spidey at # 3....I'm racking my brain trying to figure out what # 2 is.......GOD BLESS... -jimbo(a friend of jesus) (thumbs u Thank you Jim! Sorry for the late reply and this darn working for a living is a pain. I have too many focuses and my purse is too small, most of the time. Number two is Batman and Techs, but I keep toying with the idea of trying to collect as many Russ Heath covers as possible for me. I'm loving his Atlas War and Horror and I've been eyeing his Sea Devils work. BTW that Spidey 45 Boston is incredible. It's hard to beat old Spidey with so many awesome books. Here's a another favorite Spidey of mine and I once owned a CGC 9.6 for a very short time. I always plan on making this one of my first submissions but I love to flip through the pages too much. That's pretty bad I've been on these boards for over five years and I've never used CGC's services.
  12. I've read this thread from page one when I was collecting scans of books I've never seen before and you sure are accurate about some very educational information about DC War through out these pages. I hope with Shep selling off so many nice books he keeps posting in this section and he's one of a handful of members that really know their DC War information and I always enjoy reading his posts. Nothing better than reading Mick, AdamStrange, Shep, Jeffro or yourself talking about DC War. I wish Keith wasn't so busy hunting down HG 10 centers and would post more and show off some of his books. Another member I wish would post some of his awesome collection is Aman619.
  13. Hello Joe, Some sweet books you are selling and I wish I wasn't so poor with a few sellers to pay on May 15th.
  14. Hey, what are War Comics doing on page two? Thanks Andy! One more payment heading your way on Tuesday and then the mother load of 29 books will join my collection. (thumbs u A small sample of that awesome package.
  15. Awesome Spidey # 4 Jim! That # 40 is adorable Sir. Even though Spidey is my third collecting focus this is my favorite SA cover and book that arrived today thanks to Flaming_Telepath. Another cover I love. Thanks again Nick!
  16. This package just arrived and thanks to Flaming_Telepath allowing me to make a few payments and I couldn't be happier. My favorite SA cover and book. Another one in my top ten. Thanks again Nick!
  17. I have the scans and I better not post them and then have Canada Post use my package as a football during their coffee break. Sorry to Humantorch and Dave is my favorite Canada Post employee and would never do something like that.
  18. Thanks Dave. I have two of my favorite SA books flying across the big pond as we speak...or type.
  19. Beautiful covers, Fay - they really make one want to read the stories. I didn't want to quote the whole post, but any particular reason you picked up two OFF 65's? I thought something didn't look right about the comics I posted. Good catch!! You may not believe this and the one and only book I meant to post is an upgrade and Brian's sales were like war and I didn't have much time to think before posting the Also I forgot to mention I owe a thank you to Bill or Blue808 and he passed on the OFF 85 to me after beating me to the draw.
  20. Great books as usual guys. (thumbs u I had two packages arrive yesterday. This Beauty from "Phdog" on e-bay or board member Phil50. These 19 from Bigfiver69. An early DC Russ Heath cover.
  21. That Combat # 1 is a real Beauty Richard you lucky devil. Two packages arrived today including the one from Brian and here are the balance of the books. What a day and I just caught my breath from dancing around the living room. I just love the green color on this cover. Awesome cover and very nice book. Thank you to Bill or Blue808 and he passed this one off to me. (thumbs u This little surprise was thrown in the sweet package. This book is even better in hand. Thanks again Brian!
