  1. Argh I'm sorry this happened to you. This level of carelessness is frustrating. On the flip side, the new magazine slabs are really nice. I would contact the seller and let them know. At the very least they should pay for the cost of shipping back to CGC and the reholder fee. Curious to know what the magazine was?
  2. You don't need AI to accomplish this task. I said this in the other thread that got locked up but using AI for this purpose is like killing a fly with a bazooka. AI is very complex and would be cost prohibitive for both CGC and ultimately the customer. AI is the hot buzzword of the day and proposed as a solution for just about everything even though it isn't practical for most issues. There are imagery analysis software packages that could be much more easily adopted and used by CGC but even that would be a tall task that I don't think CGC would ever do. The capital investment alone that would be required would never be approved by their board.
  3. My sketch was updated to Scheduled for Grading today. Fingers crossed that everything went well and it moves along smoothly.
  4. I have been following this thread since the beginning and all of the detective work people have been doing pouring over years of sales, images and cert numbers is quite impressive. There are truly some of the world's greatest detectives active on this forum. Thank you for doing all the hard work for me so I don't have to Too soon?
  5. Happy to add this Neal Adams key to my collection. The seller and I went on a bit of a roller-coaster ride. Not through any action of the seller mind you. They were amazing, attentive and transparent the entire time. We were at the mercy of the delivery service and couldn't figure out why the book would take the route that it did. The book started its journey in Maryland, USA and would arrive to me in Ontario, Canada. Simple route rite? Well when the book made it to New York state it decided to take off for Europe (Belgium) like a college grad avoiding the responsibility of joining the real world. I can only assume the book wanted to take in some chocolate, architecture and Leffe before arriving back in Canada. The seller and I were both happy that it arrived without any issues.
  6. Was your book: 1. Signature 2. Remarque 3. Sketch Signatures seem to be moving based on people's reports. I haven't seen anyone report about remarques or sketches being sent back yet.
  7. There's no grade on the comic. Send it back for reholder.
  8. You don't even need to implement AI to pull off something like this. I used to work for a Pavement Management company that had vans that were outfitted with cameras, lasers and scanners that would collect images of the interstate while travelling at the speed of traffic (55 mph). The images were then run through software that would produce readouts that would shows cracks and pavement defects that would allow for the various states to determine which areas were defective and needed to be replaced. We were able to collect and analyze hundreds of miles of data in a single day. A single comic book analysis would be minute compared to this. This was well over a decade ago and the company had already been doing it a decade prior to that. I can imagine the same image capture and analysis technology has advanced quite significantly since them and didn't involve AI at all. Sometimes you don't need to kill a fly with a bazooka and the solution is much less involved than you think. The cost of one of these vans a decade ago was about $250K so it wasn't terribly expensive either.
  9. House of Secrets 92: Love Swamp Thing and couldn't pass up on the White Pages. Batman 251: High grade and classic Neal Adams was something I couldn't turn down Batman 232: Another Neal Adams cover that had been on my hit list.
  10. Streaming companies are hemorrhaging money now and dropping/cancelling projects to minimize their loses. Subscriptions are are on the decline along with the profitability of new shows. Saga would require a big budget to bring to the screen accurately. I don't see any streaming service approving a big budget for a show that wouldn't be known to people outside of comics. I say all this being a Saga fan and wanting to see it come to the screen but I just don't think it will happen.
  11. Brian K. Vaughn has stated multiple times there is zero chance of this happening. Especially now after what happened with Y: The Last Man and Paper Girls, I don't see it ever coming to the screen.
  12. Happy to add this Neal Adams classic to the collection:
  13. I have been keeping my eye out for a high grade copy of this. Had to pull the trigger when I finally saw one for sale.
  14. It also looks like they have added some more expensive sketch options.
  15. Unfortunately they don't. Book 1 doesn't have any extras. Book 2 and 3 have 3-4 pages of additional art.
  16. I remember seeing this one on Ebay. Nice pickup! I really enjoyed the Gears story. The comics and novels did a great job at adding to it. I have the 3 hardcover trades that have all the comics collected
  17. Come at me like that again and we are going to have Bad Blood.
  18. Honestly, every time I hear this Dazzler and Taylor Swift nonsense I just want to Shake it Off but I can't.
  19. If felt a bit sticky when I ran my finger across it so I didn't try and remove it. At this point, this book isn't NM so I sent it back to the seller. Thank you to everyone who chimed in with their opinions and eagle eyes. The help is greatly appreciated.
  20. Damn I didn't notice that until you pointed it out. I took the book out again and you can feel the stain. It's textured.
  21. I saw this book come up for sale from a local dealer and couldn't pass up on the white pages. Ecstatic to have it in my personal collection.
  22. Without a press, as the comic is, what would your guess at the grade be?
  23. I recently purchased this copy off Ebay and it was advertised as NM. When I got the book and had a closer look, there were at least 8 spine dings/bends and a not so sharp corner. As a result, my feeling is this isn't a NM copy (9.4). I messaged the seller and they responded: 'I don't think any of those would reduce it below a 9.2, in fact some of that is pressable. I would still grade this book at worst its a 9.4 - 9.6, just my opinion. we could work something else out? I just want you to be happy! grading is subjective after all" I am curious to hear what the community thinks? Do these defects still have this book sitting at 9.4 or not? I'm curious as to what grade people would think this book is at. I had a look at the rest of the page and back and everything looks OK. I would appreciate some input.
