  1. My thoughts exactly. That's a very nice book.
  2. I've thought about this as well--like stock manipulation. I wonder if laws regarding stock manipulation extend to comics. Interesting thought, though.
  3. Many thanks to the OP. I'm sitting on a gold mine and didn't even know it. Plus, #172 has the ultra rare five-finger left hand and 4-finger right hand.
  4. Hmmm... the Thing with more than 4 fingers, or the Torch with more than one left hand. Which to choose...?
  5. It's a little shocking to see a book with a 3/8-in. tear going through one of the covers and multiple interior pages get an 8.0. But yes, CGC grading is all over the place right now... as you'll soon see with my FF 176 that's on its way back.
  6. Werewolf by Night staring down The Beast. I don't remember this from the comics.
  7. 7.5. If not for the color rub beside Thor's cape in the price/issue # box, this would have a shot at 9.0.
  8. If I were grading it... 4.5. If CGC is grading it... 5.5/6.0 based on my poor performance in the grading contest on this age of book.
  9. I would say 5.5. With a press, I think it is 6.0.
  10. The grade is in from CGC. I'll post a pic when I get it back (still says shipping). Still time to guess the grade.
  11. I would say 2.5. This is one of my grail books. Although I'm starting to face the reality that I'll never get one in 7.5 or above.
  12. Last price drop, then back into the collection.
  13. Strange Tales #169, Approximately 4.0, Detailed description in PGM forum, $200 $165 Sold
  14. X-men #9, approximately 2.0. Detailed description in PGM forum, $150 Sold
  15. I've got a couple of low grade comics for sale. in the thread trumps any PM offers. I accept PayPal (G&S), and shipping will be $16.10 via USPS Priority (I'll cover the insurance). I will only ship within the continental U.S. I accept returns (you pay for shipping) within 7 days of delivery. I'm looking for $150 for the X-men #9 and $165 for the Strange Tales #169. If you want both, I'm asking for $340. Offers via PM are welcome.
  16. I'm thinking 5.5. I think it could be 6.0+ with a cleaning & press.
  17. I would guess 5.5 as is. 6.5 to 7.0 with a cleaning and press.
  18. Here is another comic I'm getting ready to sell. It has staining on the upper right back cover and on the top corner front cover. There is a small ~1/4" tear in the front cover at the top in the stained region (see last photo). The stain on the back cover does not appear to affect the pages; however, the stain on the top of the front cover appears to show on the first page. The staples are secure. There is a small ding in the front cover (to the right of the upper part of the last 'O' in 'Voodoo') that penetrates to the underlying pages (see the first photo below the scans). I'd really appreciate any help in grades for this.
  19. I'm looking to sell this comic, and I'm not very good at grading lower grade comics. So I'm hoping to get some opinions on this one. I purchased this one from my LCS when I was about 10 years old... and the comic was a few months older than me. It was already in low grade at that time. I had visions of completing an X-men run at the time, but yard-mowing money didn't really go far enough to accomplish that. The top staple is hanging on to the cover at the spine/back cover, but the front of the cover is torn through. The bottom staple is firmly attached. I don't see any rust on the staples. Thank you for the grades.
