  1. That is almost surely a married cover.
  2. My advice would be... DON'T. Unless you don't mind having your book damaged by CGC's graders as they paw through the book. They just detached the cover from the bottom staple on my otherwise 9.2 or 9.4 copy of Fantastic Four 73.
  3. There was a thin backer board in the center to help prevent the comic from being damaged during handling. You can see the blue Mark Jeweler page just sticking out at the top right in the photo.
  4. "Collections from famous people or creators may not necessarily be high grade or significant, but the person is." I don't know that Nicolas Cage is either "high grade" or "significant."
  5. I would keep it as-is. With that said, you would stand a very good chance of getting a bump in the page quality. That era of CGC grading was pretty tough on page color.
  6. My first thought as well. I recently got back a Fantastic Four 176 CGC 9.8 that is able to move within the inner well (that's after having it reslabbed due to a floating piece of plastic between the inner well and slab). Luckily, the book was not damaged in shipment, but I'd be afraid to ship it again due to the law of averages catching up with me--having the book incur damage due to rough handling during shipment. Even with inconsistent grading, I'd be willing to bet this damage occurred post-slabbing.
  7. The staples are like this on my Fantastic Four #188. Based on the appearance of the book, I don't think they affected the grade CGC assigned.
  8. Some of the Marvel Tales use the same cover art as the ASM issue they reprinted. However, there are some that have original art (or art that didn't make cut on the original ASM issue). Issues in the 20s and 30s (I particularly remember a cool Vulture cover on #34 and a nice Kingpin cover on #36) had some really nice original art covers. These would hold more value, but I don't know about 150 - 200... especially in 7.5.
  9. I think the bend on the back cover would cap it at 7.0 if it's breaking the paper fibers. Hard to tell from the picture.
  10. In my case, I submitted one book for grading (modern, fast track) and one book for reholdering. These were submitted on the same form, but each had it's own $5 "handling" charge because they were different tiers. The "handling" charge for each submission/tier is a pretty bogus way of adding on a hidden fee so they can advertise their grading fees a little lower--but that's a story for another time. For these two books, I chose FedEx Ground at $18 each on the submission form. The modern fast track book was finished 12 working days (16 calendar days) prior to the reholdered book. I received a shipping notice for the modern fast track book and noticed it was USPS instead of FedEx Ground, but I didn't think much about it since USPS Priority is $16.10--and if they added additional insurance, it would be about the same as FedEx Ground ($18). However, when I requested a statement from CGC, I noticed that the shipping charge for this book was $35, and the reholder was also listed on the statement with $35 shipping also. This is because it was sent USPS Registered mail instead of regular USPS Priority. I contacted CGC to tell them of the shipping switch, and they refunded the difference. I also explained that I had a reholder book on the same submission form, and that I wanted to make sure it would be sent FedEx Ground like I selected. The reholder had not even gotten past the "scheduled for grading" stage at this point. However, CGC went ahead and refunded the difference in shipping for the reholder also (which hadn't even been started at this point), and when it shipped 12 working days after the modern fast track tier (and approximately 9 working days after I told CGC about the shipping problem), it was also sent USPS Registered. This really makes no sense. I have no idea what is going on at CGC, but between their mechanical errors and shipping issues, I have no idea how they are evening breaking even on these submissions--much less making money. And yes, I had to return the lone modern fast track for a mechanical error--which CGC paid to ship to them and return to me.
  11. CGC screwed up my last two returns in the same way. I chose FedEx Ground for the return shipping--which would have cost $18 each, but CGC returned both via USPS Registered mail--which cost $35 each. I contacted them, and they reimbursed me the $17 difference for each. However, they initially billed my credit card an extra $34 instead of crediting it the $34--so I contact them yet again to get this fixed. I shouldn't have to do CGC's accounting work for them. This is a pain to have to go through each time. I have another submission that I'd like to do, but I'm hesitant to do so knowing that I'll have to go through the hassle of doing all of this work again. My submissions were small. I hope those that are spending hundreds or thousands of dollars a month with CGC are keeping a close eye on their charges.
  12. Yes, thanks @MattM CS, I was reimbursed for the shipping error on the previous submission. My question was for submissions going forward. I want to make sure that the return shipping I select when submitting will be the method that is actually used when the graded comics are returned to me.
  13. If you go by CGC's definition of the Bronze Age, you've still got 4 years of FF to go.
  14. I recently submitted one book (modern tier, express) for grading and one book for reholdering. When I submitted these, I chose FedEx Ground for each on the submission form. However, these were returned via USPS Priority Registered Mail at almost twice the cost of FedEx Ground. Each of these submissions were valued at only $100, so if FedEx Ground couldn't be used, there was no reason to not at least ship via USPS Priority with an additional $50 of insurance--which would have been considerably cheaper than Registered Mail. I have another submission I'd like to do, but I'm hesitant to do so if I'm going to have to go through the hassle of getting reimbursed for a shipping method I did not choose. Is there a possibility that the return shipping method I choose for my next submission will not be honored?
  15. The image in your previous post says you sent it to "submissions@cgccomics.com" and not "service@cgccomics.com."
  16. It does look production related in the scan, but as @theCapraAegagrus pointed out in the thread you linked above... "It looks production-related to me, but if it is not common, then CGC will likely consider it a flaw if they grade it."
