  1. Great cover...Next to Johnny Craig, Kirby drew some some of the cleanest sewer scenes!
  2. Those are nice books. I love the later pre-heros, the stories were much more developed than the earlier issues!
  3. I wonder why King Kandy never got his own series..seems like a natural!
  4. I't about time this thread was shocked back to life! Time to revisit some great MGA covers!
  5. Here is the latest addition to my Suicide Squad gallery...wonderful work by Alex Saviuk!
  6. From my personal valut...I just put up some super rare HG pre-hero BRAVE & the BOLDs and Altas BLACK KNIGHT issues. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5029404#Post5029404
  7. One of the rarest Marvel Westers - BLACK RIDER RIDES AGAIN! When one opens this great Severin cover, this book reveals some of THE best Kirby art from the 50's. You can tell Jack really cared about this one when you see the details that go into the splash page and the way Jack pieces together circular, square and oblong panels together for effect throughout the stories.
  8. Will be listing some very rare HG pre-hero Brave and the Bold, Black Knight, pre-code Mystery in Space and some other goodies tomorrow night!
  9. WOW, that's some collection! NICE. I cant help but imagine how tragic it would be if a whole bunch of big dogs came charging into the room chasing a cat! It would be a horror to see all those slabs tossed about and stepped on. Note to self: I gotta stop having a drink with my dinner...
  10. MOOMBA's favorite dance is, what else, ...the Momba!
  11. Loston is a top-notch guy. Congrats on this one!
  12. Which issue was he in? I swear, Stan came up with the craziest monster names... I thought he was in TOS, but that is an easy mistake to make. It was actually OOBA, son of DOOBA... and he only appeared in the STRANGE TALES ANNUAL!
  13. OOBA DOOBA! Nice Pre-hero run ya got there!
  14. Wonderful work by Mr McManus. I like this concept .. Film Noir meets the Island of Dr Moreau!
  15. I always loved the title: FANTASY MASTERPIECES! As an avid reader of the INVADERS in my youth, I first heard mention of FM in the letter column -- discussing the golden and atom age reprints -- and that got me interested finding some back issues. I ordered a couple of issues from the Comic Sales Company catalog and that led me to become hooked on the pre-hero Atlas stuff! Great title!
  16. Looks like the PC Police are alive and well...Whenever I see retro-active revisions of history, I cant help but be reminded of that prophetic work of George Orwell - 1984. By changing the name of the first thread and all proceeding responses, its like it never happened..cool! Now that the PC camel has its nose under the tent, I wonder how long it will be before all WW2 comics are banned and/or retroactively whiped out of existence...
  17. Congrats! Looks like you got your "Holy Grell" ..ouch.
  18. Here is my lattest addition...the Squad vs Mechani-Kong (from the epic Toho film: KING KONG ESCAPES) by Dan Campos. I love all the details that Dan puts into his work! Bill
  19. Wow, very cool! Many thanks! I am proud of my growing Suicide Squad gallery! http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryRoom.asp?GSub=105493 I have a few more Suicide Squad commissions in the hopper by some up-and-coming artists (and a few old-timers as well!) that all have the Squad battling --what else? -- giant monsters. These should be really cool! Stay Tuned!
  20. PeeWee, thats a great looking copy of B&B #1...Bob, those are 2 nice book as well!
  21. I must say that the Kirby multi-panel covers are really starting to grow on me...at first they reminded me of some of those (blah!) Charlton covers, but when its Kirby, it works! Let's celebrate the multi-panel pre-hero covers!
  22. Here is the latest addition to my Suicide Squad gallery! Oo la la! The Squad has journeyed to Paris to investigate some strange reports of abnormally large animals in the sewers... When this king size snake attacks the city, the Squad are able to corner it at the Eiffel Tower - using their super-cool Hiller flying platforms! Fantastic work by Loston Wallace! Stunning detail.
  23. Hey, those are really nice books. I love those all too few late '50s Kirby-Harvey books!
  24. Now that this film is officially a flop, I wonder what the impact will be on this book?
