  1. Another great issue of MGA...oh yeah.. this one has one of those Kirby stories...
  2. Here is a re-aquired grail. I sold this issue of HOS #1 years ago in the mid-90s (I instantly regretted it -- you all know the feeling!). Then a couple of weeks ago ... BANG .. I saw it on a website and recognized it instantly. And it was offered for less than I sold it for..I couldnt believe it!!! Now its back home. A story with a happy ending! Bill
  3. Oh my... B&B #1 is so hard to find in FN or above. It looks like a really nice book. Bill
  4. Great Cover..Hmmm. I wonder what Flee could do with this one?
  5. HEH HEH ... This is a HOOT. Gotta Love Flee's animation!!!
  6. Nice copy! Luv those Cameron covers. Too bad there isnt many more of them.. Bill
  7. I have an unslabbed one, I'll take a look. So what really did happen to Hitler?
  8. Thanks. Its amazing how hard it is to get a Silver DC above a 9.0
  9. I dont collect too many Charltons, but I couldnt resist this lil gem! What a fantastic Ditko black cover. And, for a Charlton, the interior art is pretty good as well... Bill
  10. I just got this book into my collection this week! This issue is quite a lil' gem! Not only does it sport a Nick Cardy Gorilla cover and story, but it has a very unique story by Mort Meskin - The Bewitched Costume. The artwork for the Meskin story is very interesting -- Mort was a close associate of Jack Kirby in the Prize/Crestwood days -- and the coloring of this story closely resembles the coloring used later by Kirby in HULK #1. The use of panels with characters colored in solid red, yellow, blue, and green. Meskin is truly one of the most underrated artist of the gold and silver age. Bill
  11. I aint no copyright lawyer, but I do know from my business law class that a collection of facts cannot be copyrighted. If Pedrin thinks that a certian issue is a "Rock prototype" and Overstreet agrees with him...where's the issue? Bill
  12. Here are a couple of Barney Barker issues.. wonderful Severin covers. I would love to see some more of these "funny' war books posted...Salior Sweeney, Sgt. Bilko, etc.
  13. Dont forget SSWS #90. Although this one is tough to get because its the first app/cover of the WAR BEFORE TIME series, there is a great Marie story in this one as well. Bill
  14. Sweet book, Jay! Ditko I love the way her purple eyeshadow matches the dead tree. Pre-code Ditko
  15. Nice B&B!!! Here is one I picked up recently...
  16. I absolutely love this cover. There was a very nice copy in the last Comic Link auction that ended up going for 5X guide ($1100 ) Crazy as it sounds, I was thinking that was cheap just because the cover is so darn cool. Thanks for sharing! (thumbs u So let me get this straight...someone parted with this comic for mere money? Inconceivable.. (do you know what the condition was?) This is a great Russ Heath cvr -- and Ii'm a sucker for any robot cover. I wonder what would have happened if Heath had stayed at Atlas instead of doing all those silly war comics at DC...
  17. Here are some early pre-hero JIMs - great covers and great art! Bill
  18. Fantastic Adams covers on both. I love these Bronze age Sci-Fi reprint titles. Strange Adventures and From Beyond the Unknown were my favorite titles right up there with all the Marvel Monster reprints. I always wondered why DC didnt have more Sci-Fi reprint titles than Marvel did at that time...as DC had about 20+ years worth of inventory from no less than 6 regular sci-fi titles. Bill
  19. I have em all BHF! I suspect your interest in this book may be with the Ditko "Hulk" story. This story features a monster from a movie called "The Hulk" that comes to life...or does it??? I would classify this book in the Price Guide as: "first app. a "Hulk" in TTA... Bill
  20. Here are a few more TTA's orange/brown monster covers... Rommbu - great cover... I love any cover that has a monster trashing jets! Forget gators...I wouldnt want "X" in my sewer pipes.. THE BEST Tales to Astonish cover. Ive said it before..this would have made a GREAT movie poster! Another White Mountian...Sandman prototype?
  21. I love this cover. That demon looks like a lil' baby FIN FANG FOOM. Great stuff. I would suspect that this cover was inspired by the fantastic horror film: CURSE OF THE DEMON -- but on second thought, I think the film actually came out later... I will have to check. Bill
  22. Psst...Hey, do you think the CREEPY #146 I priced in the sales forum is reasonable? (last post in the thread). http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2370108&page=3#Post2370108 thanks, Bill
