  1. I made a thread to sell 10 of them. I did so because I was getting offers via pm for them. Even though I have less of them than Ssalefish, I was going to sell a few to boardies if they wanted them at a lower price than the ones on Ebay are selling for. I went ahead and deleted that thread though. I won't be selling any here if that's what you consider "dumping". I am not "dumping" anything. I am however still "pumping" because the book is killer. I hope that's understandable.

No reason for "secrecy". I am definitely pumping this book because I believe in it. I'm not dumping it though. Of the copies I have left i'm only making 10 available. I honestly think this book is going to get a little crazy $ wise.

    :roflmao: what??

12 copies sold at $40-$45. Not bad. (and yes, total transparency, I had a hand in creating this variant.) I still have a little stack of these that I didn't sell already. Ssalefish isn't me, but it's a friend of mine's store. I'm proud of this variant and it's getting some healthy sales on the bay. Best of all, the book is actually really good.

Great book and looking forward to issue #2 but tell your friend to lower his prices. Raping buyers on a new unheard of (by most) series won't gain him many return customers

but..... but.... but.... there's only 150 of these :ohnoez:

sssshhhh.....the pump and dump is in full effect.

  3. He is charging what he wants, and so far people are buying. "Raping customers" seems a little strong. There are copies available of the regular issue. Having a unique cover with such a limited run is not cheap to produce if you're unaware. The artist has to be paid for producing the cover, and the variant swichover charge + the actual cost of the books being printed adds up.

  5. This book is amazing, and I think it's going to be the breakaway hit that Aftershock has needed. Definitely the best first issue I've read in a long time, and I am a pretty tough audience with new books these days. I really only like a few books a month if that.

Definitely buy the regular copy to read, but don't sleep on this micro variant. (only 175 available) Full disclosure, I am responsible for setting this cover up, so I'm partial. I have a small amount of them. It was my favorite option, so I thought it would be a good bet to make it the most limited cover. 5 have already sold for around $40 apiece on the bay.

There's also a B+W variant that is limited to 500, but this one is the one I've invested in. The sketch one is definitely a cool option, but that micro is such a creepy image. There's also a show variant that's limited to 500 as well. If anyone is interested I could probably set something up, but I'm not trying to make this into a sales thread. The regular book sold out same day of release from Diamond. Like I said, I'm not hiding the fact that I have a nice stack of these, but I really do believe in the book, and am expecting great things from Joe.

  6. You can request a blue label, but then the sigs will be counted as a defect. That's probably why the grade is so low on that silver.

A Turtlemania Silver on sale on the bay

    turtlemania silver 77

Pretty steep asking price for a Silver but they don't come up for sale very often so...could fill a nice vacancy in someone's collection. Odd that it didn't get the green Qualified label since these are pre-signed and numbered...one of my copies got the green Qualified label.

What I need is a Gold.

  7. This is what that is. The guy I had bought this from had folded it where the Turtles page was visible in the bag. I folded it back over.

Not sure about selling, but maybe. PM me if you want to make an offer. I've got pretty much everything Turtles (outside of an original Gobbledygook) I just didn't know this existed until yesterday.

  8. I sold a #217 9.6 for nearly $400 this past year. Didn't last 10 minutes.

well, I dunno if that is going to be a $600 book though. PPSSM might be the forgotten little brother to ASM, but it was a pretty well-read book and it was not a book that came in under the radaar, C&D had a pretty big story arc and were characters marvel was pushing, so it's not a book that would have been trashed as it was one of the few PPSSM books worth anything. So, I'm thinking 9.8s of a first tier or almost (circulation wise) Marvel 1980s book...probably not that rare. Black cover doesn't help, sure.

I guess ASM 252 might be comparison? (SW 8, I'm thinking, might have had a bigger print-run?). ASM 238? Not sure what else from that era is a good comparison. The ASM books are always going to fetch more even if an equivalent "key" just because

7 times more ASM 252 CGC 9.8 on census compared to PP 64 CGC 9.8. I'm sure that number will go up if the price keeps going up but that's a vast difference in numbers.

There are plenty of this book out there. I just don't think people have bothered slabbing it yet. Before this recent pop there were NO sales of CGC copies of the book, but plenty of raw sales (at respectable prices). With that said, I don't know what the respective print-runs were.

Need to find my copies. Of course, my OO copy was read by my brother and I about 25 times each, so I'm sure that one is pretty rough.

Could be and I'm sure plenty of 9.6 will be cracked, pressed and resubbed if the price goes crazy but PP 64s have been $400 - $550 book in 9.8 for a couple years. Are you saying people have been sitting on them since $500 was just not enough of an incentive to get their high grade copy subbed?

OK. From the thread it was inferred that prices had doubled on this book because of the TV show hype, so I figured that the recent $419 sale was a chunk more than before, but I guess it is just in line with prior sales. So, sure, maybe it can be an $800 book due to it being hard in 9.8.

A Captain America 217 in 9.6 just went for almost $200. I guess a 9.8 may push $400 or more. So if that book is a $400 book then I guess PP 64 can be $800!

  9. I've been buying every copy of that book that I thought was a 9.4 plus under $50 that I've seen for the last 2-3 years. I go to 15-20 shows a year. 4-9.8's, 6-9.6's, 3 9.4's. That's really not a lot. I wouldn't call it super rare in high grade, but it's not plentiful either. It could also be a "hold" book for a lot of people too though since that's basically what it was for me.
