  1. Cleary a (1) disgruntled employee took their aggression out on this comic or (2) grandchild got a hold of the store stamp
  2. Kevin, I feel for you. Take a deep breath in, pause, and exhale. Yes, the exchange thing sucks. What is the timeline for this incident? Is the date of 15 NOV 2022, in your posting when you purchased the comics? If so, reflect on how you sent them "15 more emails" when they notified you of the problem. I get it, because every so often, I go ballistic (anger management issues). But once I cool down, I ask what I could have done differently. And the long Thanksgiving Holiday more than likely impacted a response. I hope this gets resolved and/or they offer some form of discount for your next purchase. For what it's worth, I had very positive experiences with MyComicShop
  3. GoCollect has two publication dates for Peter Cannon Thunderbolt #1: DEC 1965 and JAN 1966. When I input the CGC serial numbers for the the 1965 sold issues, CGC noted the date of 1966. So...is there a DEC 1965 published issue of this comic?
  4. Came across this issue. For 1946, incredibly clean. Grader Notes: Right Bottom Front Cover Lite Bend (I do not see this) Spine Lite Stress Lines Breaks Color (Clearly visible) Spine Moderate Fraying (Does this include the front cover bottom left corner chip?) Here is what I see in addition to the Notes above: (1) Item I circled in red (hair or scratch), light scuff marks around hero's right calf and boot, back cover lower right rounded edge, back cover piece missing from top left corner, and back cover mild discoloration/tanning along mid-lower left edge. Does this merit an 8.5?
  5. I've seen several YouTube blogs where (1) the comics are not pressed and cleaned or (2) returned slabbed with more damage. I continue to see more posts on CCS. I really hope something changes soon.
  6. Wow! I have a Silver-Age comic graded at 7.5 and the cover looks way, way worse than your TTA #88. Bummer.
  7. Keep in mind when you pursue the "alarm" route, CIS (and most insurance companies) requires the alarm be connected to a central office with 24/7 monitoring. They aren't going to say "no" if it's an audible-only alarm, but you won't see the policy discount until you're connected a central office.
  8. If you're ok with purchasing Restored comics, you are one lucky collector. Think of all the additional opportunities and lower prices available to you. Go get 'em.
  9. A topic with many, many discussion posts and even more opinions. I feel for you and wish there was a reason comics graded as high as 9.6 received graders notes while others (all the way down the line) did not.
  10. Economy received on 11 JAN 2022. 203 business days. Getting closer.
  11. KCO, Please do let me know when you have some spare time. I would gladly pay you a few hundred bucks to grade and catalog my collection. And, I would provide pizza and beer at the end of each work day. Not during. Don't want any of that grease on my comics.
  12. Two options come to mind: (1) You remove the wrapping or (2) CGC removes the wrapping.
  13. Thank you. I'll reach out to them and inquire as I am not interested in installing it on a mobile device. I want to install it directly on my desktop and only use it on my desktop.
  14. In the Support section of this App, I see guidance on how to sync to a desktop computer. However, I cannot find the App in the Apple Store for a desktop. Any ideas?
  15. Ok, first response: (1) CGC turn-around times would increase.
  16. Many good points, but I do not agree with equating Grader Notes to CGC teaching us or "CGC is not going to provide you with their proprietary grading information." Refer to, "Pre-Order Your Copy of ‘The Official CGC Guide to Grading Comics’ by CGC President Matt Nelson." A common theme on this forum is a desire for transparency. So, in order to fairly address this topic we need to understand the steps/process a grader takes to document (or skip documenting) Grader Notes. The grader is required to note (mentally or document) defects in order to arrive at a grade. How much longer does it take to include notes? Although I am not a proponent of having to pay an additional fee for notes, I am inclined to believe it takes a shorter amount of time to include the notes that it does to capture a high-resolution scan of the comic ($5 extra fee). If CGC agreed to provide Grader Notes for every comic with no additional cost, who would object and please I would sincerely like to know why.
  17. I key in on the phrase, "at heritage auction". No further comments required.
  18. Yes, this can be true based on the options you select when you set up your policy. I highly recommend reading the details of your policy. My policy spells out specific caveats for shipping a comic. For insurance purposes, the comic is under your control until CGC receives it and ships it back. The insurance policy does not cover the comic while it is under CGC's possession.
  19. In case you missed it. Bry found several Holy Grails. Absolutely amazing. FF#1, TOS#39, FF#5 and TTA#27. So glad he found them. Such a great guy.
  20. The insurance premiums are based on the reported safety and security of the facility. For example, if they indicated on the policy they did not have security cameras, the policy would cover this. The list of questions I had to answer to insure my collection was exhaustive. Every detail is addresses. Including paying a significantly lower premium if you selected to not cover the collection for theft. I did not go for that option.
  21. Registered Mail Get maximum security for your valuable items. Registered Mail® items can be insured for up to $50,000 at your Post Office™ location I don’t have further details but I think it’s worth looking into.
  22. I see your point. And from a buyer’s perspective you’ll have two sets of interested parties: those who want to purchase it as a set and those looking to fill a run (individual copies). I would still reach out to CLINK. Could be the beginning of a trend. Rest assured you’ll receive input on how you can/cannot generate more money via individual sales, but if you do it on your own think of the time (packaging, insuring, post office visits, collecting payments, possible returns) you’ll save if you sell it as a set. And use this as a selling point to any potential buyer because they’ll also save all of the aforementioned time. Keep us apprised. And to assist with valuation, post the comic number and grade here. Lots of knowledgeable members here. And lastly, prepare for potentially significant varying opinions. Happy Sales 😛
  23. I’m curious if CLINK provides a lot-style option.
