  1. With the twins on the way in less than two weeks, I had a selloff of about 60% of my collection. My collecting focus (probably the wrong word) was all over the place. I was shocked at what I actually got back in return $$$-wise for my books.

Had enough to purchase baby-related stuff, enough for a rainy day, and a little surplus to indulge my main collecting focus...my Captain America collection.

I found a few of these babies without breaking the bank:

  2. Was looking for a Neall Adams book for yellow label. I inten to get a high grade GL 87 but not really feeling the thought of cracking a $200+ HG bronze key book for a sig.

So I picked up this beaut instead. I think it will look awesome with a yellow label and a well placed Neal autograph.

  4. Been looking for this for last few years in ultra high grade (9.8). This is the only second copy on the census in 9.8 out of 6 slabbed. Great addition to my HG Cap collection...

  5. Got this last night from Heritage for $62 (incl. BP) that was my limit. Sounds like a good deal to me or at least just about right...but since I dropped GPA awhile back can't be sure.

Been trying to get this for a good price since Iron Fist's resurgance in the MU.

Hate to bug you guys ...but do you have GPA numbers dont his book? Thanks!

  6. Ahhh the ending, that been much discussed, a 2001 space odyssey style mind trip where the crew of the Probe Ship see visions of heaven and hell as they journey through the black hole, its truly a freaky way to end what should be a family film. He doesn’t escape at the end instead they 'see' the wild haired body of Reinhardt 'float' into Maximilian, his eyes come alive inside him and he takes up position atop a mountain overseeing hordes of the dammed marching up its slopes, the dead crew of the cygnus perhaps.

Really give the film another go, there’s lots to enjoy like some bizarre mix between alien, star wars and 2001, the opening third is the best like a gothic haunted house movie in space and the score and production design are superb.

So I did remember correctly. Thanks for the reminder.

How long before a Hollywood remake?

  7. I've read how people are disappointed in 9.6's

For keeper collections, the majority of people want THE best possible. 9.8s are usually it. As previously stated, abundance dictates this line of thinking. I'd even go as far as copper with this, unless its one of those cost prohibitive copper keys where a 9.8 copy costs 300% more than a 9.6.

For resale, there is no question one would be disappointed because there literally is almost no market for 9.6 moderns unless its scarce/rare/low print run books. You might as well crack it, read it once and sell it raw for $2.99.

  9. This answer has a sliding scale for me. It depends on several factors.

For me, I wouldn't get late Bronze or Copper in OWP. OWWP is the minimum for me. Especially with the availablity of these books. I can be a bit picky.

Early Bronze and Silver? If I have a choice of the same book in OWP or WP, it would depend on the $$$. $10-20 premium...sure. Anything more than that I would probably take the OWP.
